Bankwest Transaction account [General Discussion]

Who knows, you may be right, but there have been people calling the end for at least 18-24 months now. I guess if you call it enough one of you will be right.

I think we've had multiple people over the course of this thread telling us they've received a letter from BW, or a friend of a friend knows someone at BW who said they are onto it, or that it is fraud and BW will soon be recouping all our points, or another similar story. Who knows if the stories are true or just that, stories. The "end" will be when my own account is cancelled, not when a few people on this thread tell us it is.

And what happens when it does end? Life goes on and we move onto the next points hack.

Just thought I'd give a heads up, the "missus" got a letter from Bankwest today informing her account would be closed effective July 1 due to the activity on her account. Basically states that at the time of opening you were provided with the terms and conditions of the account and advised of Bankwest's rights in relation to closing your account. Don't know if this is a one off or they are starting to crack down.

Would like to know the update if they just close the account only or whether they can also reverse back the points already posted to QF account . I dont think the latter will happen the most they could do is close your bank account and/or ban you from banking with them . QFF wont let them deduct the points from their member account even if they did what if a member already spent all the point on a flight already .

That is usually what happens, but there was at least one report of Citi in the US closing an account and clawing back the AA points. And then AA simply closed the person's account with the ensuing cancellation of all pending reward flights as well as the loss of life time status.

I would imagine that wold be an extremely rare circumstance given that there's no mentioned in the T&C about macro payments and there are a few members in here who have been keeping track with updates to the T&C.

That is very true. If I recall correctly, the guy put millions on multiple Citi credit cards and as soon as he got the points he got the charges refunded and then proceeded to close the affected credit cards (I presume with the accounts with point balance of minus millions of points). I think the guys had booked multiple international family holidays all in F and also was a life time Exec Plat (this probably happened when CC earn would count towards life time status). AA closed his account but I am not sure whether they banned him from the airline.

Luckily had transferred all the points in that account over to mine less than a week earlier, so if they try and reverse the points it will be interesting to see if they can also get them back from another account. Hopefully not as discussed above.

Also re payments over the past few days, I have had all mine process up until today (with today's just listed as authorization only)

Dont think they will even touch the QFF account as if no one here reported so . I am 2 years late to the game and just start 3 months ago with 2 accounts running . Hopefully it will be ok for a while , love the free points each month

Certainly looks like my gig is up at the very least, both my "parents" received the same letter today advising their accounts being closed from July the 1st. Certainly cutting it fine to transfer all the money over. Will be interesting to see if this months points get transferred for them

Did you have any activity on your "parents" account during the last few months . Other post you mention that you didnt have any activity on your "missus" account that could be why trigger the check . Are all the account in the same address
