It's hardly an issue of 'what is being asked' when it's a life saving vaccine that's the requirement.Sure - if you win. And the chances of that are...? How many won't win, so won't get that reward?
Competitions are usually distinguished from offers as they're quite different. And if you just look it as a competition, then the need to enter private details is a very high hurdle compared to most.
I still find it a lowball offer for what is being asked.
Amen.Sadly this thread just reminds me of the enormous sense of entitlement some people have... And they're usually the people that can never be pleased.
You can't say they haven't put value in it. Maybe I won't win, since I've previously one a major prize in one of these types of competitions.Sure - if you win. And the chances of that are...? How many won't win, so won't get that reward?

Of course, that's the joke.

For those that were on the fence about getting vaccinated, you're getting something to incentivise you off that fence. I acknowledge this category may be small, but this doesn't in itself make it a bad 'deal/offer'.

Sure. Understand. In which case you won't participate. No, it's asking for your personal health details. And you can get vaccinated quite readily without sharing those details with them.

You should attend a Melbourne engagement party or a Maroubra beach party to keep the virus going round and QFi grounded, just to spite Alan Joyce and his miserable offer.I have to say I was looking forward to what wonderful incentives AJ would offer considering having people vaccinated and able to fly is critical to his business.
What a sad bone he has thrown us. Don't get me wrong, I'm going to enter for the major prize, knowing full well the chances of winning are miniscule. The 1000pts/$20 voucher/15SC are not an incentive to get vaccinated and in no way will get the anti-vaxxers to take the jab, which kinda defeats the purpose of the incentive. Those of us already vaccinated will begrudgingly take the bone. The anti-vaxxers will just scoff. MISSION FAIL. Even though Qantas will get good publicity, if nobody can fly, it's not worth squat.
When I first heard of the options, I thought 'what a load of cough', but I suppose 15SC will count towards my lifetime status, until I read the fine print. I just shake my head. My next though was to wait till May to take the offer, so they'd at least count towards the next years status, but nope, more fine print says must take by end of December. I will take my dried up husk of a bone (1000pts) and whimper in the corner.
Likely your choice will appear anyway later.Seems to be a problem with the Qantas App name matching the name on Covid vaccination certificate with name on QFF card. My card includes my title before my name. The QFF App apparently sees this as a name mismatch and rejects the certificate. Waiting on a response from Qantas .......
This is a ridiculously cynical exercise from Qantas, though not unexpected of course. The three so-called offers are all worth effectively nothing and will cost Qantas the same, which is of course why they're happy to give them away for hopefully some free positive publicity.
1,000 QFF points is worth at best $10, which will be easily offset by quietly increased prices and points devaluations in their various redemption stores. There's no chance of actually using these points to redeem a flight of course because they'll make sure there are no QFF seats on whatever flight you try to book.
$20 flight voucher is similarly worthless in an environment where you can't actually fly anywhere and again easily offset by quiet flight price increases to claw back the $20 again. If it was a genuine $20 in cash transferred into your bank account, then this would be the one to get, but of course that's never gonna happen.
On the face of it, the 15SC are the only 'reward' worth anything until you find out the 15SC points have special status in not counting for anything worthwhile like status upgrades or lifetime status totals, meaning they're actually worthless too and will just expire again before you can actually extract any tangible benefit from them.
Thanks for nothing Qantas. Just another BS marketing exercise, probably come up with over a weekend BBQ between Joyce + Scotty from Marketing's place.
I’m not so sure about the taking the pi**. There are ways of signalling that - absent. I take them at face value in that case. You do realise some people are taking the piss right…. (at the screechers complaining they didn’t get enough honey from QF from doing something that will literally save their lives / loved ones lives which should be reward enough but you know…).
Some people need to get a grip.
SO are you saying that you don't trust QF is actually throwing away the cert after (auto) verification?AJ actually did a lot - will manage to get Vax Certs onto Qantas app for next to no cost.
And when customers start booking, the Vax cert is already there - makes bookings easier with a vaccine mandate in place
I don’t really care if QF does or does not delete the Vaxcert itself after verification. It is basically a receipt.SO are you saying
