I think I'll stick to beer for the day, I get drunk too quickly if I go the rum and coke option... -looks innocent-
I'm thinking of grabbing a case of something and throwing it into the cooler for the trip.

Anyone have any suggestions? Bearing in mind I'm a poor almost broke uni student, so no Rekorderlig lol

The BAM requires cheap drinks only.

I'm on mid strength and champagne occasionally. However, I'll bring a bottle of rum for CaviAck.

xx_X Gold is about as fancy as I get but may splash out on some Carlton Mid or Naked Blonde to throw in the communal ice tub...

Central - Domestic Airport is just a tad under 7km by rail.

Central - International Airport is just a tad over 8km by rail.

Just a reminder that my offer for a Friday night meetup etc for locals & early birds into Sydney is still open.

Meeting place at Central, time TBA by anyone attending.

Is it possible to get a slab of beer through airport security?

The liquids rules don't apply domestically.

I know, just wondering if security would stop me from bringing a box of that size through. IIRC from my last drunken endeavor a slab is bigger than the permitted carry on size.

It might be too heavy. On QF and VA hand carry weight limit it 7kg, and JQ is 10kg. You could argue it could go under the seat in front, but it really depends on weight I think.

I'd be happy to pop upto woollies at town hall to pick up a slab, in preference to poor uni students doing so, or anyone battling security.

But I have carried on a case of wine to a Qantas flight back in the 1990s.

It'd save me bringing over football hooligan beers.

Woolies have a liquor store in their Town Hall store? o.0 Or are you referring to the liquor store on Park Street that's with the pub/hotel?

I think I saw a bws there. Hang on.

Edit: not coming up in the app. My mistake sorry.

The gwilli1 +3 will all be beer drinkers , plus Im tucking away some bourbon and scotch from the excess home supplies and will purchase some nibbles to bring along also. .

I will be bringing Gin and possibly some nibbles. Happy to swap for good beer though, else i'm fine just gin'ing it up.

I too toyed with the idea of carrying on a carton or at least 2 six packs.

I think I'll pick up some coopers from the bottle O opposite central!

I will bring some wine along. It is a bit hard to bring a slab of beer on the plane.

Everyone should note the downgrade in temperature for tomorrow. 23 in Sydney and up to 25 in Canberra with some showers around.

Certainly not cold but not hot hot either. Definately worth a cardigan for later in the evening.

Should be nice on the train then (and a lot cooler than the last trek we did at Christmas time!)
