Double Status Credits promotion (Book by 27/2/24, travel 28/2/24-14/2/25)

GDS systens like Amadeus tend to operate in UTC as a universal standard time. Same for airline ops too I think. Keeps everything consistent.

UTC and GMT tend to be used interchangeably though UTC is more modern nomenclature. Also known as Zulu time.. ie you may see 0000Z as a reference.

Most of aviation runs on UTC. It’s really just the passenger facing stuff that gets translated.

If you use a flight credit which retains the original PNR, then using that credit during the double status credit window won't give you double status credits?

Thanks. Well that sucks, but I had to use the flight credit anyway.
You may still be able to get DSC's as long as the use of the flight credit/ticketing with with the timeframe, but I doubt it will be automatic and likely you will need to call.

It was... made sure I accepted the DSC offer on the app and then used the flight credit within the promotion timeframe for a flight in April (which is within the eligible period)

I booked my travel within the booking period and after registering.

My question is, I flew from MEL - BNE on the 27th (I know this won’t get DSC) and flew from BNE - MEL on the 28th. It was booked as one trip. Will I get the DSC for the flight on the 28th?

Haven’t got it yet.

I just flew SYD-BNE on a DSC eligible booking. Where's my SC???

Jokes aside, I will report back when the DSC actually comes through - should provide a good frame of reference on when we can expect the first lots of DSCs to get credited.

Hi There,

I'm brand new to AFF! But have enjoyed reading a lot over the past day or two.

Quick question _ I've tried to first see if this has been answered and in parts perhaps it has. But if anyone has the time I'd appreciate it.

Can you change a flight you have booked and paid for during the promotional period prior to 27th February 2024 and still get DSC applied to that booking?

Outline

Within the DSC period of booking (February 27th evening) we booked return MEL/BCE business class flights - as they were pretty well priced via Dubai. $10k return each

However, being very new to this game of DSC as I'm new to the country, did I properly read and discover that the flights I purchased were QF flights but operated by Emirates. So the DSC will not apply. A shame. Although I asked on Qantas phone when we were making the booking and she absolutely said "no no as long as it's a Qantas flight number it's ok" (But the more I read on this forum I'm beginning to undertsand that perhaps they will say anything on the phone

But still at $10K return as opposed to some of the other fares in business I'm still ok about life as most of the flights available were sitting around the 9k each way.

This evening though I have seen a reasonable flight via the Perth route through to LHR and on to BCE. That is QF flight and QF operated (through to LHR)

That leg alone with 335 SC would become 770 SC (had it been available when we were booking but it definitely wasn't at the time)

The return BCE/MEL portions aren't reasonable enough to consider a change.

The T&C's and lots of reviews on here do say that as per the T&C's if you change to outside the promotional period the it does not apply. But if I just wanted to change one leg to the MEL/PER/LHR/BCE route do the fine folk here think Qantas will honour the fact that our original booking was made during the promotional period. No date changes, no departure or destination change - simply a routing change to pay a little more but turn one leg in to a 770 SC run.

Presently because of my new error we are of course still earning SC but not getting double due to it being operated by Emitares.

Any help would be appreciate. I'd call Qantas but after the above, where the service operator insisted I would get DSC on the very flight that the T&C's say I won't - I'd be worried about making a change and not getting the DSC and in fact in turn having a longer flight anyway through to BCE!

Many thanks FFF - Fine Flying Folk

1. Agent was wrong as you figured out. Flighrs operated by EK are no goid

2. Yes, you will still get DSC for QF operated flights if you change flights as long as they are still in the travel period (ie prior to Feb 14, 25) which I assume yes from your story. Note - as long as the existing booking is usrd - either by QF changing it directly, or via cancel to voucher(be careful of fare rules and penalties) and rebooked with that. I would ask QF to modify tge existing booking tbh, but may depend on fare rules.

The comments regarding changing flights to outaide of the promotion period refer to being ourside if the Feb 28, 2024 - feb 14, 2025 eligibility period for flights under this promotion.

Many thanks RichardMEL! Much appreciated.

1. Yes the more I read the more it seems they say many things on the call centre. Some fun reading in this forum
2. Good to know. And yes period is within the promotional period prior to Feb 14, 2025.Agreed if we make a change there is a fare change fee so something to consider but will make sure the booking reference does not change. I've read that caused one poor chap a world of pain with DSC from LHR/

Hi all,

Can anyone please clarify below scenario:

My gold will expire end of April and I am trying to attain platinum. Based on the flights I have booked so far, I will definitely have enough SC to get platinum - IF all the DSC gets credited on time, which is by the end of April! The last flight before my gold expires is on the 21st April. Does this mean if DSC arrives in May, I won't have platinum?

No.

You will. DSC apply to the membership year of the eligible flight taken, not the date credited.

So any ideas what would happen if I made a change to a booking which was made during DSC of the outbound leg for Feb 10th and now I want to add the return leg to it departing Feb 18th?
