Thanks JessicaTam & serfty . The "farewell" really has gained some momentum.

Great to have you along. I have 'paired' you with serfty.

I have updated the spreadsheet up to post #418. (418 posts! How did that happen??)

Hi Jessica. Could you update my seat to 4A please as I just burned some points. I seem to be sitting behind George now, so my seat defender will be deployed! :) Yes, I actually had one but have never used it.

I have applied for an upgrade, but got told that there were no seats yet, but will be advised. This was a week ago, so I will have to wait until T-48. How have you upgraded and got a seat allocation so quickly? Or did you just buy the seat with points and not upgrade?

I have spoken to the SYD First lounge this morning and given them a head's up. ("How many?")

As we are such a large group, they will be monitoring the guesting rules. At the moment there is one WP 'unpaired' so we are ok. If you are thinking of joining us, then be aware that we may not be able to 'bend the rules' very easily if we are over quota.

Auto upgrades require U availability. None there at the moment.

Also no need for seat protectors in J. They're hard shell backs that don't move.

Hmm, I purchased a cheapie ticket, then a few days later I upgraded. Came through straight away.

Was too late to book it as JASA as U class had gone by the time I stopped dawdling around. Was thinking about applying for an upgrade but think I might need my points for another JASA to Europe next year.

Did they sound happy about it or were they being a bit 'rolls eyes' about it?

So who else has waitlisted for J?

I suppose worse case scenario I'm sitting in row 23 so not too fussed.

Now booked my VA return flight, am on the 6.20pm flight back to SYD

It was showing U3 last week (as per my earlier post) - by the end of the day after me posting that, three people posted about having upgraded. ;)

He seemed fine, and was glad that I had let them know. It has been noted in their diary with my details and I will confirm with the lounge a week or so before the visit.

T-48 it is then, if they choose to fill the front of the aircraft.

Edit: I will advise as soon as I know, so 23J can be grabbed if I am successful.

Love the seatmap for 81, talk about front heavy LOL, was looking at continuing on to Singapore for $520 return but cannot seem to get a good seat!

Ime qf81/82 don't do personal welcomes. The crew just don't seem bothered.

Pilot could do an announcement welcoming the "plethora of WPs" on the flight

And also they might say, with all the WP's onboard why are we cancelling this route again? ;)

With news out today that travel to Germany is up 10% by Australians there might be a few similar questions asked.

I'm gold for this event at the moment - shortly likely to make it Platinum. I'll come on QF81 (am WP, with no current guests), and will stay at the Hilton (HHonors Diamond), but will do my own thing for dinner and won't fly back on QF82 - I will instead catch a flight back later in the day on Sunday.

I might however rent a vehicle to go from the airport to the city, so could give others a lift to the Hilton if I do.
