Farewell QF 81/82 run SYD-ADL-SYD [Sat 13 -Sun 14 April]

I'm gold for this event at the moment - shortly likely to make it Platinum. I'll come on QF81 (am WP, with no current guests), and will stay at the Hilton (HHonors Diamond), but will do my own thing for dinner and won't fly back on QF82 - I will instead catch a flight back later in the day on Sunday.

I might however rent a vehicle to go from the airport to the city, so could give others a lift to the Hilton if I do.
It would be good if you can make it.

Thanks for the car offer. I haven't considered transport yet - I think we have enough to hire a bus!

Just bought AA miles. Aim to redeem 13 Apr from SIN, but that looks like an arduous task right now. Might have to do the 'Inaugural' QF82 SIN-SYD flight on the 14th.

Hi Jessica. Could you update my seat to 4A please as I just burned some points. I seem to be sitting behind George now, so my seat defender will be deployed! :) Yes, I actually had one but have never used it.

from the looks of the "like" poll, seems to be a West outcome for dinner....?

Votes close in less than 24 hours...

You know I understand why people voted for both. But it does make it hard to pick people's preference, we can all go with the flow but the question is which would they prefer.

That's right and if you continue to SYD then you'll be on the same flight on the 14th.
But the QF82 from SIN departing on the 14th flies direct to SYD, and is the first one to do so. Hence it being the 'inaugural' one. :)

Just a heads up... It will be a big AFL day in ADL on Sun 14th April with the local derby Crows vs Port on at AAMI Stadium at 4pm It could mean a bit of traffic around and maybe a shortage of taxis for those that are planning to leave ADL Sun afternoon / evening. Just thought it was worth a mention . If i had the Monday off I would have considered staying for the match .

Glad I will be gone before then.

As per the Vote / Like thread I posted some time ago, with a majority of 2 votes, the popular choice seems to be "City West" Preference i.e "Other Restaurant / Gouger Street Eating Precinct"

Jessica, please have the 1st post updated to include this...

Discussion can now be focused on location (West of King William Street)

Thanks to all those that voted, unfortunately the early favourite City East "Jasmin" has been beaten and will NOT be the destination for dinner on 13/4/13...

Let the discussions begin...!

I am sitting next to straitman as we speak so will make sure post 1 is updated.

I look forward to meeting you this Friday to make the final decision for dinner.

AFL derby isn't a big deal really in the CBD but it gets a bit busy around West Lakes and the airport.

Maybe a Chinese banquet could be organised?

I don't care where we eat - Gouger street has some excellent choices, but with AFL derby (thanks for heads up) booking would be advantageous methinks...

+1 for Chinese, however in consideration to everybody's eating preferences, perhaps a DIY banquet where everybody orders a dish or two with the option of sharing with other people...? This would cater for vegetarian's and people with intolerance to some foods so the theory is that everybody's happy...? Just a thought since some of the banquets can be hit and miss depending on what everybody wants / can eat...

Yes Friday sounds good... So are we now empowered to decide for the group

Saves a long discussion in here if we can decide a location over a drink on Friday...

Check your PM later.. Shintaro
