Farewell QF 81/82 run SYD-ADL-SYD [Sat 13 -Sun 14 April]

As part of the advance committee who explored the F lounge, QF81 and Hilton Adelaide on this past weekend I am pleased to report that it all met my approval (apart from the feta, egg and lettuce sandwich on QF81 which was inedible - fortunately I was full of omelette, sweet corn fritters and champagne). The King Junior Suite was also very comfortable:

A new bar has also opened at Hilton Adelaide which serves up some delicious coughtails. It also has a very impressive Gin list (among other spirits). A few sample shots from the menu:

I will no doubt be trying one or more drinks here upon arrival and/or after dinner :)

My god.... And here I was thinking Gin was just Gin!!!
You learn something new every night here.

Great to have you along. I will put you down as self sufficient as far as Flounge guesting goes.

Do you need (to squeeze on) the bus to the Hilton? medhead, perhaps we need the 24 seater bus!

Dinner was up to 29 of 30, so you make 31. I will ring the restaurant tomorrow. You might have to sit on someone's lap!

Are you joining us for drinks/dinner in Sydney?

Is the bus from ADL to the city, or to dinner? Either way happy for a lift.

Happy to sit on someone's lap, but the withering look I would get from Mrs Paddy might be spoil dinner (and some days after )

Won't be joining you for dinner/drinks on Friday night.

Judging by the no staying at the Hilton  I may need to look at a different hotel program too

Well it is now T-80 for my first flight on Saturday morning and I have just moved up to the front row of Y on the MEL-SYD leg.

The celebration has officially begun.

I'm 90 minutes later, but am not staying up till then ... not a single seat currently allocated in row 23/24 on my chariot to SYD.

Wow amazing there are so many replies on here.
Have thoroughly enjoyed flying QF81 over some years
since living in Adelaide there's little of joy for WP Flyers.

Didnt think I could make the last flight. On account my ex
Arrangements Meant teens are with me this weekend.
That said. I could pop down for a drink at some point Sat

Any chance of a summary of on-ground arrangements in Adelaide?

Was also going to mention a top little "coughtaii" and cabaret bar just 50 metre
From the Hiton across Grote st. La Boheme Adelaide
highly recommend the American Beauty. - Hendricks Gin mmmm

Thanks and hope to catch up! Dave

OLCI not working for anyone else?
Still greyed out for me, yet the seat map appears to have filled up substantially looking at select seats.

Not sure you can OLCI until after 12 Noon Friday (or earlier that day if inbound to SYD on a connecting flight).

T-80 not really relevant for WP on "international" flights.

Shadows (X) abound upfront:

Hi Medhead I have always found that 1K will be inlocked at the airport when I previously flown QF 81 to ADL

Yeah. That's what I had to do last time. F lounge had to call someone to get me the seat. There then seemed to be a bit of a kerfuffle onboard with the crew and another passenger (off duty pilot or something) over how I got the seat.

Anyway, I've just realised I've left the camera in Adelaide so a window seat becomes somewhat irrelevant. Plus I should just settle for 2J if I really want a window.

serfty how about one of these for QF81,

QF175_zpsab404ded.jpg

A group of us were on QF175 back in Feb 2008, some famous names on this piece of paper, I first counted 2 but looks like there is now 4 of us, dam those people who use different usernames between forums.

A few need to add their seat allocations please.

Still lots of availability in J on 81, I wonder who is going to get their upgrade

No U availability, but looking like there is plenty of scope for an upgrade on 81 if you have one requested

Business: 9 (at least)

J/9 C/9 D/9 I/0

Plenty left to put into the staffclass bucket! :)

EF showing only 10 pax in J (occupied)..... Is there such a thing as a WP shadow in the front of the bus...?
