Fewer Suites, but larger and plusher coming....

I think one thing they might have wrong is having 1A/2A as the double pair. Almost every single traveller in First will take 1A if it is available, thus any couples booking will have less chance of getting a double bed pair.

Seat maps have changed on my SQ232
1A and 2A here we come
Ditto...did the same earlier but looks like we are the only 2 in F at this stage (flight in early Mar)

Just checked our Suites booking on SQ221 in January.

The seat map has changed, but the seat allocation has simply gone by the seats that are still there. retain there seat number and anything that has disappeared allocated what is left.

In our case we had 2D/3D the front pair. 1A and 2A and 1K were also showing as taken.

We have been allocated 3A and 3F, which couldn't be further apart.

I have been on the phone to SQ for 20 minutes but have only been told that a seat change request will be put through.

Not Happy.

After one phone call from SQ and one from me, all fixed

We are now travelling on the 7th January on SQ221 in 1F/2F

Great service from SQ.

Looks to be limited leg room for the seat in forward position in row 1 :(

I think you mean the side on position facing the desk/bench given where the window is. The seat is in the reverse position at about the 3 second point then rotates to the starboard side. The forward position is behind the seat at the start. I'd guess that is 1F

Also shows the new Amenity kits.

I'd be interested to 'hear' if others think the feature where using the SQ app, one's partly finished movie (or I assume TV show and so on) from one flight can 'travel with you' and be viewed on the next flight is useful or a gimmick.

If my connecting flight was two hours after the initial one, I might have a chance of remembering the plot or earlier part of whatever I was watching, but if the flights were three weeks apart...no chance.

Unsurprisingly, there don't seem to be any improvements (or negative 'enhancements' - there's that word again) in economy class or for that matter premium economy class.

Those seats in Business Class look much better than the current version which IMO were always too wide to be comfortable.

No, I mean facing the front of the plane. I thought maybe they do not allow swivel to face the front but looks like you can:
"The swivel seat also provides the flexibility to work on different things - you may face the massive 32" IFE Screen (up from 23")"

did anyone see any announcement of new amenity kits in F to with the new suites?

As mentioned above they are shown with numerous photos in this link here-

No EDT perfume or aftershave on flights into Singapore (you get a candle instead). You'll only get the EDT in the Amenity kit in Suites/First on flights out of Singapore. Cost cutting? Can I use the candle on the flight :)

First World issues :)

They've heard the complaints and have reduced the width-

The new A380 Business Class seats are by JPA Design (who also created the iconic Business Class seats on the A350 product) and it measures 25" wide (5" more narrow than the current A380 seats). The seat pitch is also reduced from 55" to 50" but Singapore Airlines claims that it actually maximises the use of space.

Does it look like its going to be awkward to sleep with the foot cubby off to the side?-

Here we go. Sam Chui at the launch and looking at the First And Business products-

Suites looks like private jet compartments. I like it! Yes it looks a bit bland but there are plenty of space! I think that is what SIA is trying to emulate. If you add Krug, First Class meals/BTC, excellent SIA service I think it would be fantastic.

If you think about it, most people who flies current A380 Suites, because of the low of people flying anyway, you can have your own seat plus asking for another Suite and make it to bed, and you just travel between the two for sitting and sleeping. They are better off making it all in a room. The only negative is no way to have 2 people dining together.

Business Class looks good but still have the issue of the foot cubby positioning. Obviously they are increasing the number of J seats to make it more economic. I would not be surprised is slight more J Savers are available on these aircraft.

Premium Economy and Economy I haven't really been to much, but the NFC reader would be good for future proofing as well as great for paying for Wifi ....

I think J, PE and Y seating innovation is near the end .... most have similar seats anyway. It will be the service that would make the difference.

I look forward to Suites on SQ232 in January. Not sure how long I should be sleeping and sitting on the day flight :D

Not with wee Asian feet!
Oops, that sounded a bit racist.......
But then again, I'm Irish born and the Vic minister says it's OK to come out with sweeping generalisations like that :)

Looking at the video I posted above from Sam Chui at the launch event the Aussie Lady showcasing the Business Class seat does not look comfortable lying down in Business class. IMO.
