I would submit a question in writing on the official Aust Post page asking whether that is correct as I suspect it is not. If you don't have any luck then try via the Aust Post company secretary.

I think it is a violation of their commercial eftpos agreement actually.

I would also suggest sending an email to Woolworths quoting the refusal by Aust Post as the T&Cs for the cards do not indicate any special restrictions on their use.

The reason they are able to refuse is because on the gift card itself, it states something along the lines ; for use to purchase merchandise and it was up to the discretion of the retailer whether or not to accept. Don't have the card infront of me but after I read it, I think they have every right to refuse because of those 2 terms.

This would be useless. You would be better served contacting the manufacturer of the product. But this is not something that I would recommend either as it's entirely up to the retailer as to what payment method they accept.

Someone did that with shopping centre XL card last time round, so Australia Post sent out official internal notice, stuck to counters nationwide, saying Australia Post would not accept XL card for payment.

We are using products clearly not for their intent and purposes. We are clearly the dodgy parties.

And by the way, it's up to the merchant to decide if they would accept any sale or payment. No one can force anyone to do a commercial contract under duress.

Using the eftpos card to pay credit card bills is very dodgy at best and I would certainly not highlight this to anyone in official circles as they will most likely look to try to close the loophole.

As with the old XS gift card, it's up to the retailer and the account provider to decide whether a 'savings purchase' is allowed through their terminals. Either a retailer or an account provider, by policy or by technical prohibition, to reject the use of tender (for example, 'withdrawl' or 'cashout' transactions will be rejected by a prepaid eftpos card. A store can block the use of cards issued by a provider, or tell their cashiers not to accept them, and so on).

As stated above it is in everyone's best interest that any 'successful' scenarios not be shayne'd

Thing is, they probably move hardly any stock during the week;and yet, suddenly, we are clearing their shelves.

The difference is, there would be hundreds of people trying to buy one Harry Potter each, at Big W; here, there are many of us, and each of us not trying to buy one card each, but we are trying to empty their warehouse. There would never have been enough for us, regardless how many Black Eagle air drop into us.

So, what you are doing is simply rocking the boat.

We found a loop hole in the promo, we worked it to our advantage, move on. Don't ruin it. What are you proposing is simply ringing the alarm waking up every party involved. There is nothing to gain from doing what you proposed, but to ensure this type of promo would never be run again.

Yes, just received this one as well. It is on the $50 value card. There's an activation fee on the Visa cards and I'm guessing there is an activation fee on the EFTPOS cards as well.
