Have your say with the QFF CEO over lunch at Rockpool Bar and Grill...

you cannot do cx selections via qf. while the seat map will show it will always show all seats available... and you can select quite happily but you will get an error. the seat requests do not translate over to the cx system.

That's my experience and on AA too. I do two old fashioned things, get my TA to do it or ring the airline direct on the phone, guess what, it works fine.

Exactly - not using the QF website. And on those occassions that I will go to another OW airline's website, I have found the seat selection very limited, and almost always keep the seat I am given by default. I always get the back of the CX and LAN cabins and get random seats on BA and AA.

I have never understood why not using QF's website is an issue for people but that is of course personal preference.

I terms of seat selection I have never had a problem checking CX or AA for seats. On my last trip I was the front row of every flight on CX in J (in hindsight two of those seat selections we poor choices on my part). On my upcoming CX trip I have third row of J as my furthest back seat. I genuinely don't know why you would be getting poor seat choices unless booking very late and that would be similar on QF.

There are a lot of problems with QF and QFF but this is one thing that comes up that I never seem to have a problem with (mind you people probably think my obsession with priority boarding is equally odd...)

I have recently booked a DONE through Qantas. At first I could get seat selection on BA on the QF site but when I wanted to change a few days later it was unavailable. However by going to the BA site and still using the QF PRN I could do it there. With CX by going to checkmytrip.com and obtaining the CX PRN I was then able to select seats on the CX site:).

It's just inconvenient. At least with QF I just need my FF number. With other airlines I need to get my booking reference, which isn't always at hand.

I'll be relaxing at the Ritz Carlton Phulay Bay in Krabi, otherwise would have loved to attend.

Good luck to those chosen.

TG

Sounds like a good initiative but unfortunately I will be in Thailand and only travelling QF part of the way.

The SYD-SIN flight could be my last paid international flight on QF for many years. Obviously my business was not important enough for Qantas.

I don't believe I would have been chosen lunch anyway as the answer to my top questions* would be a NO or nothing.

Read receipts can be denied, that does not mean PMs have not been read, especially as they also get emailed!
You mean PMs are emailed? Even if the AFF user chooses not to receive emails?

I’m sure if you chose not to receive any emails, including notifications of PM’s, then you wouldn’t get an email, but Red Roo may have notifications enabled, like I do, in which case they wouldn't have to log on straight away as they could read what is said in their email inbox.

Makes life easier sometimes.

I’m still considering questions because I’m busy with my empty life :p

Just sent off my 3 questions, tough choice deciding just 3, but also wording them well enough to get selected.

Simongr is one AFF member I would like to meet so I hope we both get selected, with Simon living in Sydney is beneficial to Qantas, no flight cost involved.

Looking forward to it, I hope I get selected.

Just a reminder that PM's to Red Roo close on Friday, so if you meet the criteria, get your questions in.

Trust the winners enjoy their meal and the convivial atmosphere of meeting other AFF'ers and QFF Management

I would love to enter and attend, but I am unfortunately on a Qantas A380 from LAX-SYD on that day! I guess I can be comforted by the fact that I am on a very expensive economy airfare so I will be funding the lunch for those of you who do attend :)

Red Roo - keep me in mind next time ;)

I suppose questions PM'ed by COB today is alright?

I should try and get mine in by midday....

Done, thanks for the opportunity Red Roo.

Nothing to lose, as an NB, right

Also thanks Red Roo..

My questions are now sent! Fingers crossed! :D

Got my questions into Red Roo. Kinda interesting if I do get to go - the next day is my thesis review... ;) :-|

Hi everyone,

Thanks so much for all your responses. They cover a lot of aspects of the program and you have all made it hard to choose the top ten.

We will get back to those selected by Thursday October 6.

But you still have a few more hours to enter so be sure to message me if you have not yet put your questions in.

Have a great weekend! And for those based in NSW, enjoy that extra day off on Monday.

Cheers,
Red Roo

Look forward to hearing the questions asked.

Oh and us Canberrans also have Monday off and the following Monday {10 Oct} as well. (In celebration of the AFF DO here that weekend :) ).
