We have had an overwhelming response to our Hilton Honours opt-in, with the large amount of requests resulting in a processing backlog.
Obviously this is not ideal, and we are working with our partner to best work through this backlog.
Further delays have been seen due to a high percentage of members not indicating they are existing Hilton Honours members and not providing their Hilton Honours membership number which has caused difficulties in matching the member.
The Hilton has a standard SLA of 6-8 weeks for receipt of welcome pack and membership card, and we've been assured that this is still valid.
Apologies for any inconvenience that these delays may have caused any of you planning trips.
With all due respect on one aspect of the above, I wasn't a Hilton Member Previously so never input the number, there wasn't a specified timeframe that was quicker if you supplied this number and surely it is easy enough for them to generate one?
My main issue wasn't the time from the start, it was the fact Virgin phone members were unsure of exactly what to do and you had to strike it lucky for anyone at Hilton to have any idea of who Virgin Australai or Velocity is, the one person I got through to that did know about it after searching said I needed to email a screenshot of the promotion and my details and proof of platinum and then I got loads of responses that said I wasn't valid for the promo. Just bad communication all round really. Similar to the Partner Upgrade commotion... We were all a little in the dark with what was happening.
