How long for complimentary hotel status to come through

Everyone,
We have had an overwhelming response to our Hilton Honours opt-in, with the large amount of requests resulting in a processing backlog.
Obviously this is not ideal, and we are working with our partner to best work through this backlog.

Further delays have been seen due to a high percentage of members not indicating they are existing Hilton Honours members and not providing their Hilton Honours membership number which has caused difficulties in matching the member.

The Hilton has a standard SLA of 6-8 weeks for receipt of welcome pack and membership card, and we've been assured that this is still valid.

Apologies for any inconvenience that these delays may have caused any of you planning trips.

With all due respect on one aspect of the above, I wasn't a Hilton Member Previously so never input the number, there wasn't a specified timeframe that was quicker if you supplied this number and surely it is easy enough for them to generate one?

My main issue wasn't the time from the start, it was the fact Virgin phone members were unsure of exactly what to do and you had to strike it lucky for anyone at Hilton to have any idea of who Virgin Australai or Velocity is, the one person I got through to that did know about it after searching said I needed to email a screenshot of the promotion and my details and proof of platinum and then I got loads of responses that said I wasn't valid for the promo. Just bad communication all round really. Similar to the Partner Upgrade commotion... We were all a little in the dark with what was happening.
 
@munitalP It takes about a month, just bare with us as we're experiencing slight delays due to high demand

So there is the official answer.I would like to see my Diamond membership through before 14th of next month as I have a 7 night stay in Vegas, but, hopefully my Gold will do it's tricks if the Diamond does not show up.
That is extremely disappointing. How did we go from 2 weeks to about a month? :confused:

I have 2 stays booked on 8 October 2011 and 14 October 2011. I would like to know if HH Diamond will be processed by then as I could actually upgrade to Executive Floor and ensure I have lounge access for these 2 stays. Also these 2 days were going to help with extending HH Diamond for another 6 months.

I actually put in the status match request expecting that it would take 2-3 weeks to process. If HH Diamond status does not come through by 8 October then I do not want/need HH Diamond status until January 2012.

How would one go about cancelling the status match request because if I am going to get status matched then I want to be able to get full value from it and not waste 3 months membership. I am not rescheduling holidays waiting for the status match.

This is no excuse for people such as me who did enter their HHonors membership number. Surely, such requests should have been as easy match.

Are you going to organise a temporary (paper) HHonors card then, like you did for the Velocity Status Match? I think you should recommend it to Hilton, and Velocity issue them manually and send them out.

Either way, this is not good PR for Velocity - if you cannot get yourselves organised, why offer a benefit?

What about Priority Club?

I applied the moment my status match came through (29th August, that's 18 business days ago), and I definitely put my existing PC membership number in when I applied. It is disappointing that I'm not going to see the bonus points (about 4000 points) for my current stay of 6 nights in the US :(

I wont let this impact on my overall opinion of VA/DJ as it shouldnt have taken this long or needed so many calls to get this resolved - but the intervention of VFF was a great move.

As I have said repeatedly I dont think that this will impact long term loyalty to DJ/VA but I have already moved a couple of other flights to DJ/VA.

Looking forward to my first stay as a Diamond in a long time tonight :)

This is irritating or annoying and ok at the same time..

Firstly I am over Hilton already, a bunch of incompetent fools and scammers. I had signed up after doing the promo and had booked a stay, no points posted and had to follow up loads of times, I then booked my accomm for Christmas and did the rate guarantee, now I have seen other threads on it, I'll tell everyone not to bother, they come up with ridiculous reasons not to honour it, I am now going to try status match to another chain and use them, I have heard Marriott is the best...

The main part that has relevance to everyone, I have had my diamond status account opened since 30th august without any correspondence, I was lucky to have found out when dealing with their only useful customer service person by accident, this can be bad if you are waiting and the 6 months is ticking away...

I urge everyone to call and get them to try find you by your name as they are duplicating accounts and not telling anyone.

Wonderful :(. I'd try that if I wasn't totally disinterested by now. As I already had HH and used my account number in the application, I'd be bloody annoyed if they just created a new account and didn't bother to even notify me. From past experience though, it'd be pointless debating this with them as they're just not interested. Maybe it's Paris who runs this side of the business :shock:
 
FWIW, the Europcar upgrade seems to be running pretty smoothly.

Mine came through within 4 days, and then I emailed that confirmation to A-Club who upgraded me to gold within 2 days.

So all up, less than a week to get both a Rental Car AND Hotel status upgrade!

I've responded to the Europcar part of this post on the "car rental status" thread....

Well that's wonderful for you! I'm clocking up about 5 weeks so far and still nothing except an email 3 weeks ago for Europcar saying it will be processed within 2 weeks :(.

Not just that, but out of my last 4 rentals, only 2 show as "qualifying" status rentals (which appears to be a new field in the Privilege web site), yet all four show up as "completed" rentals. All 4 rentals were booked through the Europcar web site and funnily enough, the two they've listed as "qualifying" were the two cheapest rentals????

I can't work that out. Why is so difficult getting promised benefits, delivered?

We can't even get to the Hilton starting blocks. 27 days today for OH and I since the status match was applied for. I guess it will come through tomorrow. :-|

I think there was an earlier post to that effect. Someone told by HH (I think, memory is poor these days) that the programme wasn't to be implemented for about a month, or something like that. We've got so many similar threads at the moment that it's difficult trying to find exact posts.

Early on in the process, when I was hopelessly trying to do business with HSW, the lady there told me she knew of the programme and I would have my gold matched within two weeks. That was about four weeks ago and still not a peep :(
 
I emailed Velocity several times, msged the rep on here, and forwarded Hilton Asia Pacific with the 'Welcome to Velocity Platinum' email as my first reservation with Hilton is on Friday. Status seems to have come through overnight, though I don't know who actioned it!

Today must be the day as well for me. Still showing signs of confusion but I won't argue.....this time ;).

Mine has gone through, and it's showing HHonors Diamond.

I applied when I was DJ Gold, so expected HHonors Gold. Saves me re-applying I guess.

Sadly nothing for me yet altough I have only been suffering for ~2 weeks. :-|

Growling noise - no change for me, I have Hilton bookings every week till mid NOV, better show up soon (mind you, how much better than Gold is it?) I have been upgraded to exec every stay at Hilton since making Gold last November, greedy I suppose ;)

A recent stay posted yesterday, pushing me to PC Gold.

Tonight I see that my complimentary PC Plat has come through today, along with a second stay which credited to Velocity Points :(

I've changed my earning preference back to PC points, pity I'll miss out on the bonus points for that one stay though ...

My application was completed just over 2 weeks ago. This is extremely disappointing as my first stay is just on a week away. I would like to withdraw my application for Hilton Diamond, as it is useless to me after these 2 stays, until VA and Hilton get their act together. :(

I will put in a paid upgrade request to Executive Lounge access for both stays in the next 2 weeks....
