I can because I did the same thing: Instant IHG Diamond Status by Registration aka the first post of this thread. I bought membership on Monday and can confirm my Diamond Elite status now expires on December 31 2024

Thank you but I don't see anywhere in the links in that first post you linked to that allow me to enrol in Ambassador.

My account was recently downgraded from Diamond to the bottom tier of status. I'm guessing that those who bought Ambassador did not have that experience.

There are reports on FT that some people who used the Ambassador extension option have lost Diamond status too, but mine is still showing end of 2024 expiry, so we'll see.

When I log in I see a message that status's are being reviewed and decision on keeping will be made by end of March. I thought since I earned Diamond in 2022 I would automatically keep if for 2023 and the requalification only comes into play for 2024.

I didn't take up the Ambassador offer with the 20k points before end of December, and am in two minds about whether it would be worth it unless my Diamond gets extended as I mainly stay at Indigo and Voco; diamond is great for the free breaky if ther eisnt a decent rate that includes it.

I renewed my Ambassador 1 week ago and status updated until December 24.
I am going for 40 nights this year so I can get the 40 night reward of lounge access for 12 months. But now I have finalised the bookings I will requalify diamond this year on points.

For those who signed up after the New Year and have a 2024 Diamond expiry, I’m seeing anecdotal evidence around the Interwebs that the expiration date has been brought back by IHG. In many cases to December 2022! Too good to be true it seems. IHG giveth and taketh away.
