I actually took my American Tourister carry-on case (mobile office) into Samsonite after first visiting their repair agent, and met with Ria, and the service I got was nothing short of exceptional. My suitcase was fraying on the outside and a small rip on an inside section, and they didn't just offer to replace it (it's coming today I hope), but I could keep the case as it wasn't one they stocked locally so it was no good to them. I've got a 55cm hard shell spinner coming my way as a replacement.

I don't think I have ever seen a luggage store without a sale on?

There is such a place in ADL. I was there today picking up a repair. The Antler I picked up for $89 delivered is on their shelf for $229! The only stuff on sale looked like cough they can't sell such as power point adapters.

Recently had to replace all 4 spinner wheels on both the kids samsonite bags (dragging them thru ice/snow is not a good idea).

Found a place that supplied and posted for $60 for both sets (8 wheels). Keep those wheels dry!

We've binged purchased on Delsey in the past ... they haven't really past the test of time very well.

Did you contact the manufacturer to see what they could do before coughing up $60 ?

I had a spinner wheel on a Samsonite case fail and after a phone call they sent me a complete set of 4 at no charge. My case was about 3 years old with about 300 sectors under its belt. I didn't get asked for proof of purchase, they just what my delivery address was.

No. Happy to pay given it wasn't a fault of the poor workmanship or product. Made it into one of those "life lesson" for the kids ... hopefully they'll remember to look after their things a little better. lol

Does anyone swear by using packing cubes ?? I bought some new luggage from Luggage Direct and they came with a set of 3 packing cubes. I don't know whether to use them on this trip or not ! I would think they take up more room in your case and would really crease what ever you put in them ? Interested in anyone experience using them.

I love my packing cubes - they may take up marginally more room but they keep everything so organised, I'm never digging around my bag trying to find things. I label them with masking tape - sticks well enough to last the trip then peels off easily

I LOVE packing cubes. Doesn't necessarily save space in luggage but completely organises it. I roll up all my tops in one, skirts/pants in another, dresses in a larger one, pj's and undies in a smaller one. Scarves pashminas/belts/accessories in another. Sometimes I label them. It means I know exactly where everything is in the case. For unpacking at the destination I just bring out the cubes and if a short stay I don't even need to unpack.

I also use them for everything. A small one for cords, chargers and what-nots. Another holds undies, and silks in lightweight plastic sandwich bags. I feel that they keep everything so organised that stuff takes up less room. I pack them very tight, but then I don't take much.

I notice that when agents feel the need to rootle around in the luggage, they just sort of feel and pat the cubes without unzipping them and I think they are relieved not to have to touch other people's clothes.

You lost me at "bought". I use various amenities bags leftover from previous flights, cloth laundry bags and shoe bags from hotels and other free items for the same purpose.

I got this off Amazon for all my cords. Very flat and super handy. In green. Shame my bags are in pink.

MrP was knicking all my cubes for his packing even though they were pink so I bought his own.

Sure. But I like things in the same colour and neat. A little OC I guess.
