I liked the sign on the Weber saying "This is for display only". In case someone thought of making a really fancy toasted sandwich perhaps?
mmmm, smoked cheese sanga

Well, we are talking about it. So I guess QF and Weber would say ‘mission accomplished’.I liked the sign on the Weber saying "This is for display only". In case someone thought of making a really fancy toasted sandwich perhaps?
There's a smallish area blocked in an area between the QP food servery and the QP bar.
However reception is being moved downstairs to the lower foyer area and I guess will operate in conjunction with a new Grab and Go servery.

The Mac workstations have also gone from the back of the Business lounge, also replaced with more seating.Other changes include the removal of the laptop bench facing the window with more seats in place and a slight reduction in capacity in the dining area.

Sadly, that's where I used to hang out. That should have happened a long time ago!
Hoping to guest my Dad on Friday morning (8am). Am I SOOL?
Definitely give it a try. Daughter who is SG guest two persons last Friday at 3.30pm into the QP no problems. Bonus no lounge pass requested for second guest.Hoping to guest my Dad on Friday morning (8am). Am I SOOL?
well actually I think it is something to whinge about . I vaguely knew this was happening, but thought it was peak hours and didn’t think it Sunday would be so forgot to warn Ms FM who is travelling back from Melbourne today. She has a Qantas club membership which I have paid for and she uses about 3 times a year. It has made me reconsider renewing when her 4 year membership comes up - she has LTS and generally I pay for J when she travels overseas (and QC is pretty useless overseas anyway, except in the States). While I agree it is not a biggie, it is annoying that something I paid for is rendered useless without even a thought at compensation. Typical airline behaviour (and note I say airline not Qantas). As long as Qantas call their most basic international lounges “business” this is to be expected and, frankly, totally fine. The basic lounge should be basic.
The issue is QF not properly catering for all classes.
A J lounge should be better. And it sounds like the dom J lounge will be. At present it is not in MEL.
And a temporary disruption while the construction is being done is nothing to whinge about. Come on people.
It's only guesting that's been temporarily suspended - not the Club member..well actually I think it is something to whinge about . I will have to look at what QC gives her - I suspect I will be better off just giving her the membership money each year and telling her to buy something to eat and drink at the airport.
And which is a stated membership benefit? It's only guesting that's been temporarily suspended - not the Club member..
yes I know but guesting someone is part of what you pay for and she could scarcely tell her husband to wait outside so the net effect is she couldn’t enter. And don’t anyone start quoting terms and conditions to me . Of course they are allowed to restrict entry according to capacity restraints. It still made me realise what a pointless exercise membership is for her. Off to read the various benefits and see if there is any point in QC given she has LTS.It's only guesting that's been temporarily suspended - not the Club member..
..and subject to clause 10.5 of the T&Cs, so no it's not..And which is a stated membership benefit?
If it was that important then buy a Partner membership, and why would I not quote T&Cs - it's the foundation of the agreement FFS.yes I know but guesting someone is part of what you pay for and she could scarcely tell her husband to wait outside so the net effect is she couldn’t enter. A bit OTT for here.If it was that important then buy a Partner membership, and why would I not quote T&Cs - it's the foundation of the agreement FFS.
What time is she travelling (and I presume, planning on guesting):well actually I think it is something to whinge about .
