In regards to the compression of images, we haven just enabled a maximum dimension (width x height) of images, this should mean members are able to upload large photos from their devices, with the forum downsizing them to a more realistic file size.

I guess, please test, but bear in mind users who are on very low mobile data. For this reason, use this thread for testing.

This thread has now been deleted. The issue appears to be server-related and we are looking to get this fixed ASAP. Thank you to all those who helped test this out and I will update this thread when things are working again. Until then, images should still be able to be uploaded, but they will have to be less than at least 1.5MB.

Please bear with us in this teething stage.

The 'saving' of the unposted post is quite the norm in many forums and also in Facebook messenger. Whirlpool also. Select All then delete is what I do to wipe it.

It really is unfortunate that this sort of activity is given the same weight as actual posts, information ends up getting diluted.

Yes - apologies for that. After some investigation, it turns out to have been sent out by the wiki import program.
(We are still trying to fix the wiki and run a new wiki import overnight.)

This was the note we received from the Wiki developer:

"The second email is indeed a VaultWiki email, sent by the importer to let users know that they are already automatically unsubscribed, because previously sent unsubscribe links would no longer work after the import. This works around the CAN-SPAM requirement that unsubscribe links work for at least 30 days from date of sending, a requirement which unfortunately provides no mechanism for site migrations. Did you receive the email like that with nothing filled out? I have not been able to duplicate that output on my end; it is always filled out for me."

Shouldn't happen again :(

I got two of these emails overnight. Are we unsubscribed or is that an error too?

Also, is there any resolution on the metadata in photos issue or do we need to use a third party application before posting?

Also, the wiki is now back, I am currently re-integrating it to threads that previously featured a wiki, but do not right now. While it is back, the editing of the wiki has changed and at this stage may only be suitable for advanced users who know how to BB Code. If you are using the Lounge Meetups threads though, the wiki will continue to be updated with information that is posted to the thread.

I like this in "New Posts" - I think it's new or have I not noticed it before.......
"Threads below this have not been updated since your last visit but have unread messages."

Was there before.

drron mentioned up-thread that the quoted and normal text had been darkened ("enhanced"). I'm using the Xenforo standard style and would like to move back to AFF style to check it out. But there doesn't seem to be an option for that. is it somewhere else, or am I permanently in the land of nice black-on yellow themes and square avatars? :p

So I came for the wine and stayed when it turned out that I actually knew stuff about flying in relative terms.

The Seoul office was hugely annoyed this morning about people who had unsubscribed from Old AFF being welcomed to New AFF, presumably this is a known issue?

And how do I go about closing my account via the new & improved interface? I've looked, but cannot find the option.

I think you are referring to The Gazette (our weekly newsletter). Yes, as part of the migration process all AFF members were added to the Gazette subscriber list. This wasn't done deliberately but due to software constraints. You can cancel from the Gazette subscriber list by clicking on the link in the email. If you want to delete your AFF account, simply send a message to myself or support and we will do this for you.
