My expiry is 30 Nov but I got my package complete with new FF card today.

I received mine yesterday as well (exp 30 Nov), with new WP card exp 11/12. Only problem - my partner also got his - and of naturally they were taken out to compare (both of us at WP) and now we don't know which tags belongs to whom!

No, they were giving you (comping) an extra year of SG because at the time you hadn’t hit SG again and they were being nice, you then re-qualified appropriately, and thus you might get a comp next year. So as you weren’t WP, you wont get 2 years of WP, but if you’re short next year, you might get a comp.

Hi Samh004, I can't see how they were giving me anything, let alone being nice. I had already re-qualified for SG (my year end is 30/11) months before this kit was sent out. I can accept that I only achieved WP last weekend, so they wouldnt yet have referenced it, but to make out like they were doing me a favour when it was through my ongoing loyalty that I re-qualified, that really irks me, and it says to me that they really don't know their customers at all. Nor do they really appreciate the loyalty that we show. (This seems to be proven time and again).

Received mine yesterday as well (WP).

Like the card, would have like to see a return to the old embossed style.

Not sure about the luggage tags, they are huge!

I don't think it matters whose tag it belongs to. When you go to submit the bag in the injector it will correlate the serial number of the bag tag to your flight details.

On the Qantas website (in FAQ for NGCI) it says you can lend your tags out to your family/friends and they can use it like it was their own.

The bag tag has no 'personal' information stored to it. Basically it holds the same info as a paper bag tag and can go on anyones bag. No matter if they ae a non FF or a WP.

Yay. Surprise on my desk when I took a quick break from the meeting room!

That is all :)

I think you’ll find they’ve been printing cards for a while but not sent them out in time, so they didn’t expect you to hit WP when they printed the SG card. I received an awards catalogue today that referenced my points balance as of the 1st of october!!

It might irk you, but I think they’ve genuinely been late sending things out lately, and not just to you, so it might seem bad form, but with the new rollout, they’ve had some issues.

Quite often you’ll hear of members being comped early, and then re-qualifying on their own anyway. In this case it’s believed that the comp is saved for another time, but if they comp you ~8 weeks prior to you actually making he flights, but get the card late, don’t think it was intended that way ;)

I'm sure they've been printing cards for ages, but to be fair, they've also known since May this year that I was going to hit WP (flights booked and ticketed WAY in advance).. I get that they would only print the colour card of my actual status at the time (lets say 2 months ago) which was Gold... fine.... I'm just saying it's poor form, and I believe perfectly avoidable to imply they're doing me a favour and "comping" me, when in fact they're not.

Also, had I not already had an unresolved complaint with QF, I probably wouldn't have been so annoyed, but this just serves as another example of how QF haven't got a clue about their top tier customers, or how to treat them.

And this is where I disagree, it is not poor form that QF only prints out the card once you reach your status level. Sure you could have had a million flights booked in advance but as far as we know, there is a chance you don't fly, the bookings get cancelled, etc etc. If QF relied on future bookings, I could potentially be a WP for life and without ever flying ;)

I guess, but they also don’t look at every top tier customer individually, it’s probably some automated system and it all went smoothly as it usually does. It’s impersonal, yes, but it’s what we’ve come to expect ;)

I didn't say it was poor form that they printed me a Gold Card, I understand that, as it was done in advance om my WP qualification. What is poor form is the fact they are telling me they've "comped" me renewed Gold when in fact they haven't. I earned that months ago. Fact. They knew that much.

You're right there. Impersonal and infuriating, especially after the conversation I've just had with their Premier team.:mad::mad::mad:

Well I got my Platinum card and bags tags in the mail today and I am on the Sunshine Coast (QLD) I have never liked any of the MN products - the silly plastic amenities kit, the grey bag with the stupid zipper that always stuck, and now the bag tag - I hope it is sturdy enough to survive the baggage handlers. :p

SG NG Bag Tags and Card arrived today.

One month after getting the "old" SG card and luggage tags (for the first time).

Just got my new tag. Will be interesting to see if my bag makes it on my next OS trip

The Q tags are for domestic flights ONLY.
Even if you have a Domestic to International connection it will be a paper bag tag.
