Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

PM sent - I hope mine make it home without breakages. (The case is 11kg's)

Very happy to arrive home with all bottles intact after travelling in my checked luggage. The bottles were well supported in the timber box wrapped in a few towels.

I would be interested in how others have transported a box of wine that was purchased while travelling.

I work on transporting the contents as opposed to the packaging! ;)

I travel with 54 bottles of wine every month into the US, never had a broken bottle yet, touch wood. All in 18 pack boxes (6×3). If you only want 1 case look up Wine Check in the USA good system.

Had this for lunch today (thanks Dad):
Good provenance.

Actually had 2 (there were 5 of us drinking). We aerated one and decanted the other. Tried the taste test - we all agreed the aerated was better.

Ohhh nice. Have a bottle in the cellar and will open her up for Christmas

Bought a half dozen to satisfy the Vintec wine fridge deal. Looked at the cellar and a bit low on the GSMs so picked these up based purely on reviews. It's delicious, had it with the lamb roast, garlic and rosemary (thanks Mrs Ozkid). Fruity, a bit of bite, medium mouth feel and tempting on the nose. I can imagine this going very well with any duck dishes.

yes good value especially when you buy at $27 at Costco (?)

did you get the fridge delivered?

Got the fridge in reasonable time, was quick off the blocks though when the deal came out. About 4 weeks. I know a colleague who bought later than me, he is still waiting on his and was told hopefully before Christmas due to backlog!!

been a hugely popular/ sucessful promo for Vintec and Treasury..understand they didn't expect to move so many fridges (??11000 in Oz)

How accurate is that 11,000 fridges number? I wonder how many ended up in AFF members' cellars :p

Mine is doing service as a secondary storage for long term bottles...took out 2 of the wooden shelves so I can stack the bottles more efficiently. Particularly with a mix of Bordeaux and Burgundy shapes. Mindful not to overload the fridge compressor

no idea of accuracy..saw in AFR i think; but been so popular that treasury and vintec want to do the same in uk,usa and canada

Finally got the call to schedule delivery, 8 weeks after my claim was validated. Was told they are struggling with too many orders and trying to deliver all the fridges by mid November.

The Penfolds promotion is my first cabinet, was this a first or something they do every now and then? I doubt I will ever manage to fit 35 bottles in it so now I want another one

They told me they had no plans to do it again anytime soon unfortunately.

A few bargains from Vinomofo and epiQure will fill it very quick ;)
Got the fridge today and now I'm sorry I didn't order another one (or two :p).

I too was quick off the block but then my order was lost so am now treated as last day lodgement.
Still waiting for the fridge so interesting to read your post about Christmas.

When I rang Penfolds in August to check on my fridge (that is how I found out my order was lost), Penfolds told me 10,000 fridges were claimed.

fingers crossed they'll realise how successfully it was and how much unmeet demand is out there that they'll run it again next year..
