Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

Hadn't heard of it before...

Tried a lovely cold-pressed Riesling at Yering Station over the weekend.

Also enjoyed a bottle of the Kay Brothers Basket Pressed Granache last night.

abit harder to get hold of but worth the effort. I believe it is produced each year. Actually tried it for the first time in Broome earlier this year. Hadn't heard of it previously but now that we know it exists It's surprising where you can find it

Pedro Ximenez - Spanish sweet sherry, similar to muscat - almost black, like treacle, or tar.

Awesome stuff!

Have tried a few Spanish sherries. Most have been good to excellent. Will look out for PX. Thanks

Just cracked this, and will be decanting for a couple hours. Cork looks okay. Hopefully it tastes okay too.

I tripped over 3 cases of 2010 St Henri today - is it as good as most of the hype I have read suggests?

What sort of price are people paying for it?

I paid $90 per bottle for the 3 I bought. I found them at Syd airport duty free departures. There was around 30 bottles. I wouldn't mind some more though. Are the cases yours or are they for sale somewhere

They are for sale and I am thinking I should buy one of them. They want $107 a bottle - case qty
They are up north and stored in the cellar of a run of the mill bottle shop chain.

Is it a bit of a risk as to how they were treated during transport into the warmer climes?

I think they are too new to have suffered anything detrimental

As for the St Henri, we paid $72 and that was when it was almost impossible to find. If we could find more we'd probably buy it.

Thanks blackcat20 - I think I will get a case the day before I fly home and then let those who were interested know where to find them

Can anyone point me to a thread on packing wine or offer any advice on freighting it around Oz? An 11kg timber box may be a bit of a stretch as hand luggage....

Let me know where it is and I will pick it up for you. I will be in Tassie next March and I can drop off what is left. :)
