DId a Sunday drive to McLaren Vale and visited Battle of Bosworth wines near Willunga. Great range, friendly staff, already cracked one of their fortifieds this evening

extremely good drinking. 2014 vintage. Still good cassis, long finish, softened tannins.

This is drinking insanely well, though if I'm honest it'd benefit from a little longer. It has so much life left in it and the meld of tannin with the tertiary flavours is to die for!

Had some friends over for dinner. Clearly thinking the same way - the 2013 was mine and the 2009 was brought by one of my friends. Both very similar with the Hickinbotham having slightly more gravitas. The Eisenstone was much younger and fresher but similar weight.

A very glorious 1986. Plenty of life in it still.

Dinner with friends in BNE. Same region, same grape, neighbouring wineries yet the wines themselves are so different. BP 11 fine and elegant ready to drink now while Meshach 12 is big and bold with many years left in it.

Great vertical of Seppelt St Peters Shiraz going back to 2001. WOTN was the 2008.
