Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

Found this under mum's bed.. It was very tasty with leftover beef curry on this refreshing cool night in Brisbane :)
Did share it with mum :pView attachment 39688

Better than finding yourself on the floor under mums bed after a night of drinking. I'm sure you both enjoyed it - life is short, enjoy it :D

Sorry I missed the pavlova yesterday :( did you have a dessert wine to share

Lol :D Sooo true!!

No desert wine but Moet is close enough... champagne goes with everything! We missed you QF WP but the neighbours helped out with the pavlova and I will take the rest with me to Warwick.. it was a BIG pavlova :)

Brought this back from Tokaj in Hungary last year and slurped the last of it with a panna cotta and berries dessert last night.

Aszu 6 Puttonyos is the sweetest level of Tokaji produced in the classic Aszu way. Now this is truly unctuous ;):).

Tonight it was a choice between two. Went with the old vine Shiraz. Fruity, full of flavour and an almost peppery after taste. Only got through half tonight so back to it tomorrow.

Seeing as we don't really have a definitive AFF wine thread or area I am going to post this offer in a few places.

50% of James Halliday Wine Companion memberships.

I am one of a growing group of people who feel Halliday has become too generous in his old age, but I still read his reviews.

Pulled pork with Asian twist (plum sauce, star anise, marinated overnight and slow cooked for 8hrs) paired with 2004 Penfolds 389.
Cork ok. Decanted for 2 hrs, minimal sediment, nose opened up well with dark earthy fruits. Medium bodied, great finish. Blackberries and oak predominant. Dark colour. Still has lots of life.

I'm happy to come over for left overs :D. My wine tonight isn't worthy of comparison...only a 2012 Tolley Regional Selection Shiraz
