Nice wines I have drunk recently - Red or White

So we are going to downsize in 2025. So now I have to concentrate on drinking the cellar. At it's peak close to 2000 bottles. I bought 1400 with me to the Sunshine Coast when we moved from the Hunter Valley in 1992. Fortunately I cut out buying winw about 4 years ago so now am down to just under a 100 bottles of table wines. The 37 bottles of vintage Port are probably going to take a bit longer.

Today I drank a bottle of 1996 Petaluma Reisling from their Hamlin Hill vineyard. The cork was still perfect and it was at peak or very slightly past. Which got me to thinking. What will our cold climate reislings be like with the screw tops. Certainly the reds I have had with screw tops are less advanced than their predecessors with corks. Unfortunately no way I am going to find out. Another 28 years to wait for a reisling I buy today will see me aged 105. Exceedingly unlikely I would get to taste it.
100 bottles, should be done by November?

Any thoughts on how 1997 St Hallett Shiraz Blackwell is drinking today?. Someone has offered me a dozen for sale but not sure about it. Thanks

This Chard is still a baby but the nose is incredible and it has beautiful long aftertaste, love it!

Left half of the Stonier in the fridge to see how it develops and went to finish this bottle I’ve been Coravining for two weeks. This is modern style Burg, quite different yet very good 👍

Really nice aged Bordeaux ,they might not be very expensive or famous ( I have no idea what they are!) at least 3 bottles I found it really nice to drink.

but I asked myself the same question, would I buy Bordeaux over here? ……………………………

I've used these guys a few times, and been happy with the range and choices - The Other Bordeaux

Boring as anything, I had a 1994 Basket Press that a friend fished out of deep home cellar, with a roast leg of lamb.

The BP definitely past its best, nose rather flat, colour just turning but perfectly happy drinking it. Some of the more discerning here possibly not.
