Dont know if its because I'm a new SG but seems a few in J SYD/Lax on 380 at your price are now appearing.
Are these JASA's or Classic Awards?

I have found when searching it's best to use E/F or a QFF NB's account as the increased availability for QFF Elites can confuse results:
I have found Classic offerings which are not reflected in ASA availability on some occasions.

On checking fare buckets it appears the Classic availability I see is likely elite based and not available to NB etc.

From this I conject that ASA's only use standard (non elite) availability when determining points costings.

Flights I'm finding on QFF site are JASA's, Ok near a year out but there, waiting for end next month to early Aug.to book a JASA.

Talking about JASA's, how are people's experience with them lately crediting correctly (especially with the Double SC's promotion)?

Hi frankxinyu,

You can change dates on JASA bookings but only if there is 'u' class (which is where they book) available for when you want to rebook.

Welcome to AFF.

The most discounted JASA's book into U class. Others may book into I, D or J class, but these are typically over a million QFF points for overseas travel.

So if you booed the Cheapest JASA (being what this thread is about) then you need U class availability to change.

ah cool thanks. so these u class seats still earn you QFF points and SCs booked under JASA?

found some excellent fares, booked SYD-LAX in the A380 for 128k+$450

I'd double check that; it should be 96K QFF points and $451,

That is in Y not J??

no it was J...

April 2012

As Serfty mentioned, SYD-LAX should be 96000+ cash as the classic redemption level is that! 144K + $485 will get you a first seat.

re: ( Now gone) "how do I book a J any seat award at classic award points level" thread.

Musta missed it was one way in J.

I have a couple of JASA booked. Anyway I was trying to ascertain the T/L/C's that were applied.

If there is only one passenger in the booking, you can employ the LAN e-ticket print utility to get such a breakdown.

I did this, and low and behold, back it came with the fare code (UBPASROW) along a Fare $Value as well.

Just checking this out for a few upcoming FASA's. Thought a hard-copy might be useful in the event of points etc not posting correctly. Interestingly, the fare basis is showing as PBPASROW, cabin is shown as Premium Economy!

Momentary sharp intake of breath ...!

I think P is a first class code though, compared to U in the previous post being a business class code, assuming I'm understanding that correctly.

Yep, that's right - an F anyseat award.

I briefly thought I'd made a mistake and purchased a premium economy award (despite having pre-allocated a seat in the F cabin). Just a mistake in the LAN engine - translating the P fare bucket into a Premium economy cabin.

All's good, though.

Hi all,

New to the site and am astounded by the depth of knowledge within this forum. I am currently at silver status and require 365 status points to get to gold before the 31 August 2011. Can anyone give me any tips on attaining the status credits required by using points and the J ASA through flight routes from Perth (maximizing SC minimizing cost and points)?

Stopovers aren't an issue as i would like to attain gold this year.

Thanks in advance

From Perth you could go to Melbourne,Brisbane,Townsville,Darwin,Townsville,Brisbane,Melbourne to Perth.East coast starters are in a much better position because there are so many cities to pick from and you only get 80 to Melbourne to start and 80 to finish your status run back to Perth so if you just happen to be over there anyway you could do that run.
