Oneworld emerald on Jetstar

Good luck - if in the unlikely event that it comes through then you will indeed be able to access those lounges you referred to in the OP!

... still no 'free' checked luggage though ...

I did get a match to qantas bronze level elite

Now, are you taking the mickey or what!

There is a reason QFF Bronze is denoted within many posts in this forum by the use of NB - B is for 'bronze' and N is for 'nufin'!

B is for Bronze N for nothing thats what i got. I tried the HUACA a few times but no dice give me a few weeks il get there ;)

just like no chance for delta diamond/1k premier/oneworld emerald/*A gold all without flying 1 mile . But its a challenge for sure i might have a little wager with mel_travller

lol! not after a wager. just asking you be as generous as we have been to you by sharing how you did this. one of the status matches you say you have achieved might be useful for someone else to take advantage of.

sharing information on these fora is not a game... if it was, you would still be stuck in Bangkok without connecting flights to Paris.

if you have a genuine contribution to make, then make it regarding the status matches :)

Having followed this (and other) Shayne threads with some degree of interest, I've come to the conclusion it's not worth the bother.

So I am entitled to lounge access with my AA membership when flying jetstar. I thought it was written on the qantas website oneworld emerald are entitled to lounge access plus one guest when travelling on a oneworld parnter or marketed .

I also rang today to match my airNZ elite status with qantas

I am still waiting to see where you see that JQ are a OW partner and marketed flight...

And Like the others you will have zero change of Qantas doing a status match.. they just don't do it.

something is going on there with yohy unless he fell asleep on his/her keyboard.

I will say that i have become addicted to big travel on small money every night at least 3-4 hours on the ipad reading waiting searching asking and i still have no idea about the trick it thread

You have still failed to answer one thing.

Where on the QF website does it state that JQ are a Oneworld Partner?

That poor dead horse is certainly copping a flogging in this thread.

It doesn't mention JQ but wasn't sure hence why I asked the question. I have read I think a mod here About a arguement stating JQ is marketed as a oneworld parnter . If I'm wrong I'm wrong but still won't hurt to try to access the lounge on the day .

I have my AA executive platinum from a status match with my premier 1k of course ;)

Doesnt matter what price you pay jetstar is marketed as a oneworld partner its on the qantas website

Is it this, down the bottom of the qantas.com home page that makes you think that?:

That would be a start yes. I think you could argue both sides but on paper it appears that's it's not a partner of oneworld. But is marketed as one ;)

So you're saying you attained DL Diamond Status without flying 1mile which you then matched to UA 1K/AA EXP/Star A Gold.

What airline did the match for Star Alliance Gold?

How did you get DL Diamond a) without flying & b) not paying much given you're a frugal kind of guy?

Can't believe I am still following this thread. I really should have better things to do instead of reading this thread whilst camped inside my apartment in Santiago right now. Anyway to all the hopefuls for further info on complimentary Delta Diamond from the OP, well good luck. I am tuning out of this thread and moving on, there are bigger and brighter things out there like visiting San Cristobal Hill today, its 808 metres high apparently.

Oh and BTW, does anyone know if Delta Diamond status gives me lounge access in MEX whilst flying Air Cubana? I might need it this week when I fly them, just PM me if necessary ;):rolleyes::shock::mrgreen::confused:

Really sorry to help keep this thread alive, and I truly dislike what I perceive to be an insane quest for getting freebies, but I do have to make a comment regarding the ¨Qantas marketed or Oneworld ptr¨ issue:

99% of the travelling public have very little time or interest in all the complexities of travel and would not study all the fine print. And I support Shanye (*cringe*) in that I agree that the Qantas site could very easily lead a novice to believe that a Jetstar flight was either or both ¨Qantas marketed or Oneworld ptr¨. Two reasons for this:

If you go to the Qantas website and search for a flight it will give you Jetstar flights. The fact that half way through the booking process you are flicked out of QF and into the Jetstar site does not change the fact that ¨logically¨ it is a Qantas marketed flight. Most people would never get to the fine print where the definition of Qantas marketed flights resides.

Secondly, the QF website showing the airline partners groups Jetstar with QF and Qlink in the top row, followed by various rows of the Oneworld airlines, then right down the bottom are the non-Oneworld ptrs. That certainly intimates that Jetstar is a very closely related airline.

*most* people are never going to read *most* of the terms and conditions, etc etc. So even though it is very clear that Shanye is not entitled to the lounge, it is understandable to make this error.

My apologies if I have given Shanye any ammo with this.

And what really peeves me is that I would not be surprised if he gets into the lounge. His persistance is as breathtaking as it is irritating. I had to earn my lounge access, and to think that someone in QF may cave in and let someone in on a $9 ineligible ticket irks me.

Isn't that one of the main reason sites like this one exists ;)
