Really sorry to help keep this thread alive, and I truly dislike what I perceive to be an insane quest for getting freebies, but I do have to make a comment regarding the ¨Qantas marketed or Oneworld ptr¨ issue:
99% of the travelling public have very little time or interest in all the complexities of travel and would not study all the fine print. And I support Shanye (*cringe*) in that I agree that the Qantas site could very easily lead a novice to believe that a Jetstar flight was either or both ¨Qantas marketed or Oneworld ptr¨. Two reasons for this:
If you go to the Qantas website and search for a flight it will give you Jetstar flights. The fact that half way through the booking process you are flicked out of QF and into the Jetstar site does not change the fact that ¨logically¨ it is a Qantas marketed flight. Most people would never get to the fine print where the definition of Qantas marketed flights resides.
Secondly, the QF website showing the airline partners groups Jetstar with QF and Qlink in the top row, followed by various rows of the Oneworld airlines, then right down the bottom are the non-Oneworld ptrs. That certainly intimates that Jetstar is a very closely related airline.
*most* people are never going to read *most* of the terms and conditions, etc etc. So even though it is very clear that Shanye is not entitled to the lounge, it is understandable to make this error.
My apologies if I have given Shanye any ammo with this.
And what really peeves me is that I would not be surprised if he gets into the lounge. His persistance is as breathtaking as it is irritating. I had to earn my lounge access, and to think that someone in QF may cave in and let someone in on a $9 ineligible ticket irks me.
