Points into the account
They advised me of the consequences… once I cancel ‘you won’t be able to keep using the service’.
Result!
Have ordered my new Telstra month to month plan. Sim will hopefully arrive Monday or Tuesday then I will be done with Optus. Unfortunately could not see an option for an e-sim (although it apparently exists) otherwise I’d already be gone.
I'm interested to see how this plays out.Verified with Optus via message that as long as I port by end of today (the billing day) I will not be charged for the 4th month. Took screenshots just in case because Optus is not exactly the company to be trusted…
it these are pre-paid right? I paid $99 on activation for the first month, and then it’s $99 per month in advance?I'm interested to see how this plays out.
I was told by chat that I'd be charged on my next billing date (15th) pro-rata up to my cancellation date (13th). So I'm expecting to pay around $92 tomorrow...
Oh yeah. My bad possibly. I wasn’t reading closely enough to understand where in the billing cycle different people’s advice was being reported. Clearly I was lucky to get my points a couple of days before my October bill.it these are pre-paid right? I paid $99 on activation for the first month, and then it’s $99 per month in advance?
I’m just assuming the $99 I got billed on 13 October covers me until 13 November… no refund. Nice surprise if I get something back.

Optus are just like Telstra and Vodafone - no prorata refunds or charges anymore on their current plans.Yes, will be interesting. I was clearly told Optus don’t offer pro-rata billing for this plan, it’s either $99 or nothing.
If your plan is cancelled, you won’t receive a pro-rata refund of charges paid in advance for the remainder of your payment cycle, unless otherwise provided in our standard agreement and subject to your consumer law rights.

It's also specifically mentioned in this $99 plan CIS https://smb.optus.com.au/opfiles/Shop/All/cis/Cis Documents/CIS_35891494_$99_Qantas_Promo_Plan.pdf

Yep, all their 'Upfront' plans are this way - no prorata charges if your spend goes up, or refunds if your spend goes down/plan is cancelled.Did Telstra changed their T&C on all new plans?
I got pro-rata refund when canceled a plan in July.
When you cancel, your service will be disconnected immediately. We won't refund any money you've already paid and you'll need to pay out any remaining devices or accessories in full when you cancel.
I just got the same too. So some were lucky that the points landed a couple of days before 4th payment was due and others just missed it and had to pay for that 4th monthI was right, Optus were wrong. No surprises there.
Contract cancelled before the 4th payment and contrary to the claims of the operator, I have not been charged a final payment for the last month because it's a pre not post paid plan.

I'm the same as you. Still waiting for my points but interestingly, although I signed up for the promo and my account commenced on 15 July, my first bill wasn't raised until 4 August. So have only had 3 bills so far. Also, I had the Optus Sim Promo in my QFF account but it isn't there now??I was billed 3 days ago for my 4th month, but still no sign of points in my account. I did get the "OPTUS SIM PROMO PLAN FEE" thing in my QFF account when I initially signed up, so I know the accounts are linked properly. Anyone else in this situation? Or is it literally just me for which the points didn't credit properly
Yeah this has happened to everyone in this thread Hopefully at least you'll get it by 4th November? Also, I had the Optus Sim Promo in my QFF account but it isn't there now??
