Qantas apologises to frequent flyers with status extensions, lounge passes, points & more reward seats

Ultimately, with all this backlash over these ‘gifts’, do they benefit me? Yes, my husband and I will now earn Platinum status on our return from the UK in October.
Love to hear from others who will benefit. Positivity is healthy.

So if membership ends in June 2023 you get an extra entire year of status.

If membership ends in July 2023 you get an extra nothing.
I guess they have to draw the line somewhere but it does seem a good way to annoy anyone with a status review date in July or August. My experiences with Qantas lately have been generally disappointing so this is pretty much in line with expectations...

15,000 points for me as a Platinum, would like to know how they decide the amount based on 'loyalty'...

Anniversary is May and currently over half way to renewal with SC's also had a few cancelled flights this year...

No lifetime status though, not too far away from Silver :)

I'm WP and I got 15,000 so not sure how it is worked out. I have 600 status credits since April and 400 more in travel booked...

Actually I wonder if it is on renewal date, if Jan-June get 15,000 and the July-Dec (whom got less in terms of extensions) get 30,000
Yeah - interesting, that... I'm another WP who got 30K. Aug year end, so I'm in the 'miss out, next year' category. New confirmed membership year yet to start, however, so can't complain too much I suppose... only other factor for me is Points Club member?

EDIT: I have also had QF flights changed or cancelled in the last 12-18 months - another factor?

Just received 30,000 Points as a P1 and the $50.00 voucher, I am also LTG and PC+ and have requalified for P1 already. I wonder if the awarded points depend on the LTG and PC+. My year ends December 31st.

So 30,000 points and $50 voucher but i;d already met the extension requirement anyway.

And naturally, the website is in meltdown when i click through to redeem the voucher (although it acknowledged the points immediately). Now cant log into app or account online.

Just received the email from QF. As a WP they're buying my love with 30k FF points.

Edit: Interesting to see they're offering different amounts to different people on the same level. More goodwill for those who feel screwed :(

For anyone looking for patterns. I'm a Nov membership year, had a couple of international trips and close to maintaining WP this year anyway.

WP, LTG, >50 SCs,
Offer 30,000points and $50 voucher.
WP, LTG, > 700 SC's for "year", ~40K Lifetime
Points Club basic

Offer 30,000points and $50 voucher.

October 31st Expiry.

Most of my SC's were earned Nov-Jan before extensions/rollover for those with late 2022 expiry announced.

I'm not LTG, but I am LTS... maybe its the combination of either WP/WP1 + any LT status = 30K, and others are 15K

Nah, I've had multiple QF flights changed and cancelled and actually have 2 'please call us' notifications waiting for flights I have for the end of the year that I don't have the mental fortitude to deal with yet.

I also have an outstanding (2+ Months) customer service request pending so it ain't that. I'm only WP LTS though.

LTG, WP expiry 31 July (from previous extensions, 760 SC last year) - 1100 SCs in forward bookings
Offered 30k points & $50 voucher
Also PC+ if that makes a difference
