Qantas Cash Card

I think a good read of the FAQs will prove very helpful to first time users of the card and how it works.

Rogerkambah, under Aud$100?
I thought it was tap and go ala pay pass.
Over $100 aye must press CR as the blurb says.

BP fuel outlet wouldn't let my QCC through!
And I showed the guy behind the counter the QCC MC side upwards too.
Tap, nope...
Tap, NOPE...
Tap, no...
Insert, nope, ... seems some merchants (as mentioned on here-and for which I did not agree-but now I do), seems some merchants are very picky about not accepting the QCC.
Checked my QCC later, and its shows the purchase as PENDING, but then that purchase was REVERSED, also PENDING... Grrr...
...had to use a non earning FF card in the end.

Ouch.... Anyways as per other thread.. finally got login access bag so I can put money on the thing.... Had to ask for compensation as took 7 phone calls and hrs of my time to sort then out... All to give them business!!!!!!
Will report back.

Re-activating Qantas Cash on a new FF card is still a real PITA :(

Total call duration 04:35 including being transferred from one system to another at least 5 times.

Red Roo, can't we have a way to do this via the web? Or at least a direct number to go straight to the Mastercard activation system?

We are about to head off OS for two months. My FF year is from 1 Dec so Qantas (thanks Red Roo) have kindly issued my new Platinum card early and sent another to my friends in WA state USA.

Trouble is that the Qantas Cash part on both new cards (with new numbers) still lapse 01/15. I have had to go through the extremely tedious process of reactivating the Cash Card for 2 months.

Qantas Cash now want to organise a new/new FF card. I leave in 8 days so have simply told them NO. They just don't seem to want to understand.

This should not be so difficult :!:

I'm glad I haven't bothered to activate my higher status card. Just doesn't seem worthwhile given the time required to get things sorted! You would have hoped that they would have thought of all these issues earlier!

Now Qantas Cash is getting an external provider to do a Qantas Cash Survey.
If you get one, do mention you would want a 1 Qantas Frequent Flyer point per $1 spent in Australia earn ratio, thanks.
And if it asks if you would like to discuss it with a Qantas Cash Card rep, say yes.
And yes, I know some of you don't like the Qantas Cash Card!

Yes to both suggestions.

Another good reason to pull the LTG parachute, the QF Cash component comes with a 2019 expiry on the LTG card.

Well thumbs down as got a basically you get nothing for all your time, calls and patience to actually regain access to this card from Qantas...did I mention the time and expense incurred in placing calls to followup customer support......
Anyway Redroo......Nancy's email seemed cut and paste....

I have a trip next week. I just received a double points offer
Don't miss the opportunity to earn twice the rewards this holiday season with Qantas Cash, your perfect travel companion.

Limited time only – earn double Qantas Points*
Whether you're heading abroad or shopping online using foreign currency you could earn 2 Qantas Points for every AU$1 equivalent in foreign currency spend until 31 December 2014*.

Has anyone had to get a refund on their Qantas Cash Card where the refund had to be done without the card being present. I'm supposed to get a refund from an online store for an item that was returned to them so I just gave the Mastercard number, the expiry date and the name on the card. I used the Qantas Cash card for the refund as this was the card originally used for the purchase. I'm just wondering how long Qantas take to process these types of refunds.

I have given up on this card. It's just all too hard.

While RedRoo kindly put me in contact with someone senior in QF here who who could help, I still had to deal with the UK call centre who were fundamentally incapable of dealing with anything slightly out of the ordinary. They just kept referring my matter to someone else who was similarly incapable or just disinterested.

If you contacted the merchant for the refund then it is them that processes, not Qantas. Shouldn't take more than a day or two, but depends on the merchant.

If you contacted Qantas Cash for a "Chargeback" it could longer.

I had a Paypal dispute of $3.93 that managed to find its way back onto my card. Assume you shouldn't have an issue but it's not 100% the same.

The compliant process seems to be that they run you around until you give up. It does not seem to be intentional, it is just that no one seems to know what is going on and you never deal with the same person twice. If you email them they tell you (by automated response) they cannot deal with you be email and you should phone them. When you phone them they suggest you should write with the details. If they do reply they do by email (OK for them to use it) and they end with words to the effect "We believe this should now close the matter" when they have essentially ignored the substance of the compliant. If you want to push on you basically start the whole circle all over again. The concept of the card is good but the delivery seems to be a disaster.

Big spender

Actually, I spent $8 but I had some cash leftover in my Paypal account when I paid originally, and it turns out when a refund goes through it puts the money back exactly as it was taken... so I have $4.07 in Paypal now!

You try save cash but the item never arrives and you have to get a refund. My first bad experience on eBay, but luckily it was only $8.
