Are these load offers only available through email offer? I cant seem to find it on Qantas Cash website. Thanks
But the one above is out of date. The current offer gives up to 3 points per $.
Load (in equivalent foreign currency) Earn (per dollar)
AU$ 1,000 - $2,499 1 Qantas Point
AU$ 2,500 - $4,999 2 Qantas Points
AU$ 5,000 - $20,000 3 Qantas Points

I believe so and seem to remember previous loads where we got bonus points for loads, then point for spends in GBP equivalent to $A. But check T&C or call them to be sure. What I'm trying to work out is if I load the card with GBP then make payments in GBP do I receive 1 point per AUD equivalent in spending or would I only get that if I had AUD loaded on the card then make payment in GBP or another foreign currency.
No. Maybe you've found 'the' loophole. But can only refer to a previous Prime Minister, Mr Fraser..."There's no such thing as a free lunch."So does this mean I could load $5,000, get 15,000 points and then take the money off again? ergo 15,000 points for free?

I think you will find that that was said by the Grim Reaper - Treasurer Paul Keating when he chopped business lunches in one of his budgets.No. Maybe you've found 'the' loophole. But can only refer to a previous Prime Minister, Mr Fraser..."There's no such thing as a free lunch."
No. Mr Keating was the best treasurer / PM in recent memory.I think you will find that that was said by the Grim Reaper - Treasurer Paul Keating when he chopped business lunches in one of his budgets.

Have been monitoring QC for trip to Scotland and Italy. For reference, QC are running at -6% WRT rates reported by XE. Sterling XE .5685, QC .5346, Australia Post cash .5388 so QC is not that bad since there's no further fees, plus points. You have to load in foreign currency which they convert to AUD (the only currency you can deposit to my knowledge) at a particularly terrible exchange rate (this is where QF makes its margin on this product). You only get points on spending not cash withdrawals as is my understanding, but even so, the cost is the poor currency conversion rate. So not free.

Who's saying it's free. As above "There's no such thing as a free lunch." It's your choice to lock in an exchange rate if you wish, or take the option of using a different credit card. Just simply your choice. Given the rate is currently similar to AP cash rate, QC suits me. YMMV.Sure but 6% is not equal to free.
I don't value points at 6% of a purchase price (0.06/$) and certainly wouldn't pay a credit card surcharge that high. The bonus points I suppose make it a better proposition, but still not free.
It could be said that with a supposed 10m QFF members, emailing only 2m of them is targeting - drawing a long bow I know.Is it available to everyone or a targeted offer? When I click on the link it says thank you for registering but I am not even logged into my QCC account. I can't find it on QCC website.
Update: just spoke to QCC who were certain it was targeted, but then spoke to Qantas Loyalty who confirmed it "wasn't targeted but was emailed to 2 million QFF members". Go figure... Anyways, Qantas Loyalty gave me a link to register for this offer:

That's debatable. As you correctly stated, Malcom Fraser used the old adage about free lunches, as many others have done before him. It was Paul Keating who legislated them out of the tax system. I note that you have edited your abrupt remarks sent in my direction.No. Mr Keating was the best treasurer / PM in recent memory.

Reference: transferred a several K A$ into sterling today and the rate from QC was as expected some 6% lower than shown on the base rate on XE, but .002 points better than offered by NAB for a transfer to a foreign bank account plus fees. I thought that was reasonable. Expect GBP to gave a massive drop vs A$ this week now!Simsy asked up thread "for free"? I answered.
