Qantas extends status extensions until end June 2023 (previously December 2022)

My Platinum expires end of July 23 and I've only earned 615 SC and not likely to earn more. In normal times I would have done an overseas trip in the northern Winter which would have renewed my Plat but it wasn't possible. I do have lifetime gold if that makes a difference.

I just miss the status support cutoff of June. :(

What are my changes of retaing my Plat? I have tried emailing but no response, of course. I've had zero benefit from it since I buy J domestically - the real benefit for me is the F lounges!

I've also got a million FF points burning a hole in my pocket and would like to keep the Plat to make it easier to use them eventually.

Why not just use the points now, or use them for Business or First in which case platinum does really matter.

Unfortunately not flying enough to retain platinum but wanting to retain it to use 1m points sometime in the future has a certain irony to it.

Without being remotely close to 1200 I think your chances are very slim unfortunately.

QF have drawn a line at June, and it seems unlikely they'll do anything further now given high demand and all - it's not in their interests.

By all means ask the question, but expect a disappointing response imo.

IIRC you used to be able to burn 100,000 120,000 points if you fell short to retain WP. This is something that has dropped from the radar with all the covid extensions, but I'm guessing that is still a thing.

How did that work? I'm interested....

Plan was (pre-pandemic) to use those points for a big RTW when we retire from work - now planned for the end of this year. Not yet comfortable enough with the pandemic to consider booking it yet, I'm afraid. I know too many epidemiologists.

I wouldn‘t be that surprised if there was some points devaluation and they increased that figure.

My 100 SC rollover for PC+ just landed. Anniversary date of 31 Jan…

Same here BUT the 100 actually do not seem to count towards the actual SC balance. So while they show up in the statement, the total SC balance is wrong (understated by 100 SCs) in my case.

Curious! My balance definitely increased. That’s what alerted me to the fact the SCs had landed.

Points sometime behave like that and require a quick log out log in. Your SC might hit the same bug?

Same. I’m platinum, but only obtained platinum last year. Seems I only got the gold amount of 250, should I have got 500 instead?
@banana0692 did you ever get an answer to this question, or was it resolved? I'm in (or will be in) a similar boat - I was Gold when this was announced, only obtaining Platinum two months ago. Membership year ending 30 April. Trying to figure out if 500 SCs will rollover, or if it will be the gold amount of 250.

Depending on the amount that rolls over will determine if I need to book a DSC flight this week to retain platinum

Mrs Excel achieved silver for the first time during her last membership year and 100sc rolled over this year.

If you're uncertain, could you book something fully refundable, or if points club, an award?

FWIW: I got Platinum in August 2022 (was Bronze in the previous membership year), and got the full 500 SC rollover at the end of October 2022.
