Qantas FF and Woolworths create new loyalty alliance

More confusion to come, I guess !!

You can have multiple EDR cards linked to a ' Primary ' EDR card holder. Any secondary card holder will earn 4 cent ( and others ) discounts that any additional secondary, and the primary card holder will be able to access.

If you can do this with the fuel discounts, why wouldn't the same apply with the linkage of QFF account number to the Primary EDR card holder ??

Because it's not designed to be used this way, if it were, earning points would be really easy.

Fuel vouchers were always traded between people in the family before, so it's not something different on the cards, Qantas points can be transferred, but you need to hit a minimum, so it's just a different system.

I'm sure when the system goes live for everyone this wont be allowed. If there's a loophole in the system now it'll be fixed, or you'll be deemed to have broken the rules and have your card suspended I'm sure.

Can I link my Partner’s or family members Qantas Frequent Flyer membership to my Everyday Rewards Card?
No, the Qantas Frequent Flyer points that you earn with your Everyday Rewards card must be credited to your personal Qantas Frequent Flyer membership.

The surname on your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership must match the surname you have provided in your Everyday Rewards account in order for you to successfully link. To join the Qantas Frequent Flyer program you must enter your surname as it appears on your passport or your current legal name.

Can I link multiple Everyday Rewards cards to a single Qantas Frequent Flyer account?
No, only one Qantas Frequent Flyer account can be linked to one Everyday Rewards card. The name on the Everyday Rewards card must match the name of the Qantas Frequent Flyer membership.

Do I earn points when my Partner or family member presents an Everyday Rewards cards that is linked to mine?
No. Linking your Everyday Rewards card to other Everyday Rewards cards allows you to share fuel saving offers. This does not allow Qantas Frequent Flyer points to be shared. The points that you earn with your Everyday Rewards card can only be transferred to the Qantas Frequent membership that is in your name.

I should think that's clear.

:)

Yep, that's spells it out all right.

I can't account for what my EDR account shows when I click on the various links. Seemed to me, that both our EDR cards are linked, and that there's only one QFF card linked to both.

Sounds like it won't pay, but I just can't see why it wouldn't ( by the way it shows up when going through all the links on the webpage )

Thanks for setting me straight..... ( sort of )

Maybe a bug but note that Flybuys awards points on the total of purchases on a single day when determining is the spend threshold has been passed. Maybe not a bug, maybe woolies are just copying the competition?

No, they don't. It depends on the merchant and there are actually a few different routines in effect, i.e. not just two either. For example, at Coles the exact amount is used, and the credit is based on the value per individual transaction.

I'd hope they'd stretch it out over a whole week, though that's wishful thinking eh!
Over a week? Why not over a month or even a year? ;) I think we can forget stretching it over a lifetime. :p

Ok I do actually work for these guys and I can tell you I spent $45 on 2/6 and received 15 points, not 45. You need to do larger single transactions to maximise points rather than multiple small ones. The points posted to my QFF account about a day after posting to everydayrewards.
That is going to be a nightmare to reconcile....

Thats good news it posts quickly. Beats the Velocity shop and not earn issues!

Don't know if this has been posted in this thread or not (Sorry if it has)

Just logged into the Everyday Rewards Blog

From Monday 22 June, you'll be able to earn Qantas Frequent Flyer points simply by shopping at Woolworths and Safeway Supermarkets and Liquor. It's yet another way you can grow your points balance to help you reach the rewards you want faster.

Once you have registered and linked just present your Everyday Rewards card every time you shop to earn 1 point for every $1 over $30 spent at Woolworths and Safeway Supermarkets and Liquor*. Your points will then be automatically credited to your Qantas Frequent Flyer account. Easy as that!

Just got this email from QFF.

TIP!!!!

Ok..from reading other forums it appears from Staff who are already earning points that all purchases on the one day contribute to a single points claculation as long as $30 each time is spent.

ie
A spend of $31, $42 and $33 earns 76 points and not just 16 points.

Now this mya just be a bug in the early testing (which is why I am sure they have rolled out to staff first) or it may be how it will run.

This is how it works - they pool total transactions in a day to determine your rewards. It's existed this way for a long time, as I used to try to do two transactions of >$30 to get two fuel vouchers, but only one appeared for each day.

If you want that then don't swipe the card as the voucher will print on the docket for all tx greater than $30.

Yes - which is what I used to do - although I have so many fuel vouchers I don't use, I'll just go for the points now and put everything on the card.

This actually makes sense as many Safeways have sepearte liqor departments and you are forced to do seperate transactions. This way the two or more Tx will be pooled.

I made two transactions at the same Woolies on the 10/6 one for $85 and the other for $55. I only received 80 QF FF points. So the points are not coughulative after the first $30 spend. Which I stated in earlier posts.

Also the points from my first transaction on the 1/6 have been transferred to QF.

Thanks.

It has been posted on another forum that someone who was getting the extra points, now no longer is.

Therefore one can assume it was a "bug" or a mistake in the roll out.

This is of course one reason why Woolies are rolling it out to staff first...to Beta-test everything before any Point Runners could make hay!!!!

17 Do I get Qantas Frequent Flyer points when I purchase a WISH Gift Card?

No. WISH Gift card activation does not qualify for Qantas Frequent Flyer points.
Does Woolworths, Big W or Caltex/Woolworths sell various gift cards (beside the Wish Gift Card) ???

According to this, Big W, Caltex/Woolworths, DSE and Woolworths are ePay gift card partners.

Australia Post do sell various gift cards.

How about prepaid Visa cards?

I guess the closest that you can get is buying by Prepaid phonecards and recharge vouchers?

D|ck Smith (DSE) do sell gift cards, besides WISH Gift Cards.

If that were the case then you should have got 80 points.

Lucky you attached the screen dump so I could see that your transactions were actually $85 and $45.

As far as I am aware neither the Woolworths Group or the Coles group sell or accept pre-paid Visa cards.

Yep, I've read that too:

You cannot use your Visa Gift Card:

  • at merchants displaying the Visa logo who choose not to accept prepaid Visa Gift Cards. At present this includes the Woolworths Group and the Coles Group Stores (except Office Works). Using your card at these stores will cause the terminal to display an error message. "Card Not Supported". Please note Woolworths and Coles Groups will not accept any Visa or MasterCard® gift cards, not just those issued by ANZ.
The Woolworths Group includes: Woolworths, Safeway, BIG W, **** Smith Electronics, Power House Tandy, Caltex Woolworths, Caltex Safeway, Woolworths Liquor, Safeway Liquor, Woolworths homeshop, Safeway homeshop, BWS, Dan Murphy

The Coles Group includes (except Officeworks): Coles, BI-LO, Coles Express, Kmart, Ktas, Target, Harris Technology, 1st Choice, Vintage Cellars, Liquorland, pharmac_ Direct

That is interesting. I know Mrs NM has used Comm Bank Pre-Paid MasterCard gift cards are Coles group stores, including Coles and KMart. These were cards redeemed from Comm Bank Awards Points. I don't know if she ever tried to use one at Woolworths Group stores.

I know from experience that Woolworths group stores located at Westfield shopping centres do not accept the Westfield Gift Cards.

hey everyone,

apologies for the question, which might have been answered... a quick question, ive read the previous posts, and must admit Im a bit confused

I know the stuf about $30 and above transactions.

so is it that all i need is a Woolworths rewards card and I go shopping and pay with my credit card, then I essentially get 'double' points??

and also, I need to give the card to my other family members when they go shopping at woolworths etc. so is it possible to make duplicate cards,

and a few have mentioned that you get points based on per day transaction, is this true?? it shouldn't make much of a difference for me, as I won't be going to woolworths twice in a day.....

also, a few have mentioned getting others to earn you points, so if you are getting it for family members, since you can do the annual transfer once per year, then isn't this all you need to do??

thanks for your time
