Sarcasm?

If not.

I believe you can only buy fireworks on the Queens birthday, which was just recently. Or so I heard.

As for the smokes, they don't serve fireworks and cougho in woolies do they?

The terms may say no points if you purchase gift cards.

The way it works if you buy a gift card is as follows:

1a Buy Gift Card with cash - no points awarded
1b Buy Gift Card with credit card - points awarded according to credit card rules - if this means 1 QF mile per $1 of credit card spend, you will get 1 QF mile per $1 through the credit card scheme as normal.

2 Use Gift Card to purchase goods at Woolworths:
Present your Gift Card and the ER card when you pay at the checkout and you will get 1 QF mile for every dollar spent in excess of $30 in the one transaction.

So the Gift Card is like cash when you spend at the checkout.

If you give it to someone else and they use an ER card, then that person gets the QF miles if that person uses an ER card at the checkout when spending over $30.

So the only very minor advantage of buying up WW Gift Cards would be to get a quick boost to your Credit Card direct-earn QF miles in order to get you over the line if you want to buy QF reward flights etc. Of course, you would need a CC company that is fast at transferring points to Qantas - most do this once a month so the timing of your CC billing would be a consideration. Citibank, for example, grants CC points as soon as your spend hits the account but it only transfers points to QF once a month, at billing time.

samh004,

Why do you think my light hearted reply was sarcastic?

Were you thinking, I had attacked you personally, or that I'm making fun of this most serious topic.... one that potentially affects National Security ??

My psychologist told me, try not to be PARANOID or DELUSIONAL.

May I pass this advice onto you ??

best regards,
GORDO

Not quite correct and to clarify this applies to any type of points earnt by any CC and not just QFF Points such as my new Westpac Krisflyer Card, or someone's Emirate's Citibank Card, or even other cards that earn points that are not FF points such as Altitude Cards for example.

And this has always been the case and nil to do with the new Orange Card.

For those wishing to do this note that other bodies such as API etc often sell these cards for 5% off (though with a CC fee added on)....and so if you wish to boost there are better means than buying WishCards at Woolworths.

ok, sorry i need to clarify. im too dumb at the moment.

ive got a CBA platinum card with $1 to 1 point ratio.

I just got my first EDR card today! I know the $30+ rule.

i use my CC for absoluetly everything....

so to get the best points possilbe, is this the best way.?

1. buy gift cards from safeway, (preferbly larger amounts) eg $50, get 50 points from the CC+I will get 50 - 30 = 20 points from EDR

2. spend the $50 gift card while shopping say $50+I will get 50 - 30 = 20 points from EDR

so a grand total of 90 points for a $50 transaction, is this correct?? or do you not get points for redeeming a gift card??

Huh?

You have that @rse-about - Paying FOR a Wish card will not earn points while redeeming (purchasing) WITH a Wish card may earn points.

In any case, you certainly can't double dip with Wish cards ...

500 QFF points to update your email and link your QFF Number to the Everyday Card.

Well at least my 3 kids got that invite in the mail today from Woolworths.:)

Mum and Dad (ie me) who had already done both last week did not get a letter.:(

So have I :
a/ missed out because I alread did it
b/ get it anyway because I already did it

Or is it just because it is a huge mail-out and my letter is still coming??

Please make this the title of the thread so we can end this retarded topic :)

Or can one of the Mods please edit the OP to insert that Wishcards cannot earn QFF points...otherwise it will keep getting asked....as too may are not willing to actually read threads.

I presume paying with a WISH card can earn points ...

Paying by Cash, CC, WishCard, putting it on your tab....or even a cheque will all earn QFF points.

If they print a normal receipt and scan your Everyday card the points are yours.
