Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

I may have missed this, but is the option to communicate with the team via the Wellbeing app not an option any longer? When I had an issue with the invisible quiz in attaining GT for year 2, it was dealt with in writing, starting with a query via the QF Wellbeing app, and after some back and forth over e-mail (where the communications moved after the initial response), it was sorted within about a week or so.

Go to the QF Wellbeing app > Settings (the little cog, upper right) > Help > Give Feedback (this is based on the iOS app)

Cheers,
Matt.

Not sure if that will work for the Green Tier reward. The quiz was delivered via the Wellbeing app. I have the leaf from the quiz showing (along with 4 others) so I expect they will just point out that fact and deflect me to the FF service desk.

Yes, could well be, though it was through this channel that I was able to get them to make my selections appear when I went into the Green Tier section, so thought maybe it's worth a shot. I didn't end up with the 5 leaves showing until a few months later

Well strike me down with a feather ... No, I did not receive a call. But I did receive an email. The email subject was "Qantas Loyalty SR######" noting a Service Request number I assume.

Email reads:
Dear Mr NM,
Thank you for contacting Qantas Frequent Flyer.

We have manually credited the 10,000 Qantas points to your account as part of unlocking Green Tier.

Thank you again for choosing Qantas Frequent Flyer.

Kind regards,

<name redacted for privacy>

I had absolutely no confidence anythings was going to eventuate from my call today. While I really dislike broken systems, I am impressed at the speed of the resolution. I did nominate during the call that I would be choosing the 10K points reward, so I guess there was no need to manually activate the selection opportunity when they can just credit the points.

Of course the points still don't count towards PC+ renewal, but I knew from last year that they would not.

I don't know if they are trying to fix the quiz issue, but I noticed the environmental quiz appeared in the wellbeing app last night. It generated an error when I attempted to submit, but the points are showing in my activity log.

(The wellbeing app does seem quite glitchy at the moment though, rings and steps not updating like they were previously)

Are you in your 2nd or later qualifying year? Or first go at it?

Yep, I’m seeing it in the iOS version. I’ll hold fire until next member year.

Re Glitches. I do find that it sometimes is just a good idea to uninstall and reinstall any app that doesn’t seem stable. Alas, not always possible if there’s important data stored locally. But shouldn’t be an issue for the WB app?

Second year. Checked my points earning statement, looks like its 12 months after you've last done it that it reappears in app (points credited for the quiz last year for me on 10 March as a separate item on my statement).

It was also the final task for me to earn Green tier this year, but its still showing on my account that I've completed 5/5 tasks from last year. Keeping an eye on it to see what happens.

I suspect it’s just part of the app update and ought to be available to all.

My first and only go at the quiz was only in August last year but now back.

I suspect it might be an issue with the app itself, as its providing correct step amounts in some places on the app but not all of them (closing the app and re-opening it later is seeming to fix it). Will do an uninstall/reinstall if it doesn't resolve itself.

Yep that could be it. The T&C's originally indicated the quiz could be done twice a year (max 200 points per year earn), which I guess could make it every 6 months instead of 12.

OT, but I see what you mean about the WB app and steps. Just finished 45 mins on a treadmill and have zero steps today…😳

Edit: but appears to be working now….

Just did the quiz via the app but it doesn't seem to appear on the site as an option now? And two of the donation options have shifted to different sections.

Oh, I wonder what that means in the long run…

Yeah, my read is it makes GT a bit more expensive - probably still worth it for 50 SCs tbh but if they're tinkering here, perhaps they'll tinker with the award as well

I’m only on my first GT path to attain before the end of July 23. But since I now have enough forward bookings to requal WP, I’ll hold off until May/June and fire off the 50 SCs in the next status year. I’ll probably “wait and see” what becomes of GT thereafter.

Yep, quiz gone completely from the T&C's too. Interesting.

Probably keeps me then at 1 task left to do by July. Would be nice to know what my options are, but still showing status earned last year, so... 🤷‍♂️

Point Hacks has confirmed the quiz is officially out, in its place is a 'Give Back' task, which is a $25 donation using points to OzHarvest or UNICEF. The previous give back task is now called 'Reduce your impact', which includes points donations to the Kimberley Land Council and Great Barrier Reef Foundation. It means 2 x $25 donations through Marketplace will count for 2 of the 5 tasks required. Changes took effect on 9 March 2023. No indication of a change to rewards for achieving Green Tier.

When I did my second year of Green Tier I noticed that for Choose sustainably you had to purchase a ‘sustainable sips’ wine from Qantas Wine, because supposedly all Qantas Wine or Qantas Store deliveries are now already offset (so you cant opt in for from $1 anymore).

Luckily, I was able to burn PC wine voucher of a sustainable sip which I took to a dinner party.

I think they might have tinkered with this too - all of their deliveries are carbon neutral now, but I think you can still pay to have a "climate positive delivery" (I think I did this when buying a new pair of headphones through Marketplace).

Called QFF yesterday as I was sick and tired of waiting with it now being well over a month since I've qualified. Spoke with agent who spoke to supervisor and came back and told me he had to email an escalation contact to get this sorted and they'd get back to them in 2-3 business days and they will then call me back sometime early next week to provide an update. Fingers crossed that this isn't just talk.

Update: Called QFF again today since I never received the promise call back. After a bit of a wait the agent got back and said the email was sent but they're still waiting for a response from the email since it's first come first serve (didn't know email inboxes operate in a mode other than that?) and that I should hang tight and someone will eventually get back to me... hopefully before November 31, 2023!
