Just back to this (Green Tier award in second membership year).Qantas Loyalty just responded as follows via email:
„Upon further reviewing the next Green tier reward will be sent after your membership year.“
Doesn’t smell like that this passes the pub test as per above discussion of the T&Cs. I wonder in which court these T&Cs could be tested as I wouldn’t mind to get to Platinum finally.
The current T&Cs state:
"++ Qantas Frequent Flyers who have achieved Green Tier status are eligible to earn their choice of one (1) of three (3) available rewards. The option to select a reward will appear in My Account 21 days after the member has achieved Green Tier. The choice of 10,000 Qantas Points or 50 Status Credits or three tonnes of Carbon offset must be made within 90 days of achieving Green Tier status. Limit of one reward per individual per Membership Year. Once the application is complete there is no change of mind on the chosen reward. If no reward is chosen within the specified timeframe the reward will be forfeited."
Technically speaking, I achieved Green Tier during my Membership year that ended on 31 January 2022. Green Tier is currently active as it's carried over into the 1 Feb 2023 - 31 January 2023 Membership year.
Hence, legally speaking "Limit of one reward per individual per Membership Year" would mean that I have not yet claimed an award in the 1 Feb 2023 - 31 January 2023 year as I claimed it before, and hence I should get the choice now as I requalified (which is different to achieved)?
Are they any lawyers on here that agree/disagree with my interpretation? I would especially be interested in the disagreement (as this would probably be how Qantas would react - would they potentially argue that the T&Cs talk only about achieved but you did requalify where the T&Cs are silent and we have our internal Op policy...).
