Qatar Airways status match to Virgin Australia

Yep, mine extended too.
(had to delete and re add the card to Apple Wallet, as it wouldn't update no matter how many times I pulled down to refresh)

Just noticed my Qatar Platinum status now expires end of December 2023 but no email from them

I like Qatar as an airline and the fact they fly in and out of Adelaide means I might look at some flights with them this year.
Triple like
For various reasons never got to go to QF F lounge but have a a few OW trips this year.
First visit to HKG CX F and a repeat to LHR CX F on cards too

I did make a number of trips on QR last year. Is this relevant or is it a universal extension?

My only trip in QR was a Qantas points reward flight and it didn't have my QR number in there I don't think

You won't regret it. I always begin my QR flights from ADL - better seat choice for longer than say SYD or MEL and often a bit cheaper too.

just noticed this and came to rejoice in status extension as well.

although I'm locking in QF flights tonight, I did and will continue to look to QR when it makes sense, so for the price of me having a few meals in the lounge, they're securing business and modifying behaviour.

Does anyone know, if you can just show your Qatar Gold card at at the Virgin lounge to get in, or does it only work on code share flights? Recently lost Virgin Gold, so hoping I can use Qatar gold to get access.

You can use your QR Gold card for access to VA lounges

Perfect, VA gold expiring mid year so that's an extra half a year of lounge access if there's no further extensions on that front.

Wonder if I can swap an upcoming AA flight from QF to QR, select MCE seats, then swap back to QF?

Its great they keep extending but I'm also not happy. I did achieve the initial 155sc challenge to keep gold by 31/12 but this hasn't been acknowledged and I haven't received the new QCredits on my anniversary date (28/2). These are very valuable when I can get a biz flight upgrade between Aus to Doha, or Doha to Europe. Not sure if anyone else has experienced this.

This is the best airline status in Australia and the one I am planning to keep. I am Platinum on QR & QF, dropping to LG on QF after May 2024. By keeping my Platinum on QR I get the benefits of it on both major Australian airlines as well as across the globe for my reduced international travel. The fall back is QF LG when I stop the work globe trotting

Absolutely agree that it’s great and I’d love to maintain it but the inability to earn on Australian domestic flights is a big negative for me and will sway me to stay with BAEC for now
