Qatar Airways status match to Virgin Australia

The gift that keeps giving. Neat that it now covers you for both Qantas and Virgin lounge access!
I've slipped down to VA Silver but still have QR Gold, so good that I can still get benefits on VA with QR status. Does QR Gold = VA Gold for everything? As in can I take a guest into a VA lounge as a QR Gold?

Yes it gives you lounge access

Hi, I apologise in advance if this is a stupid question! I'm flying PER to BHX in June with Emirates, but on a Qantas codeshare. I've just seen that my Qatar gold status, & lounge passes, have been extended until December. (I would have flown Qatar, but they no longer fly into B'ham). I see some of you saying you will be able to use your Qatar status to enter Qantas lounges, so is it stretching it to hope I can use a lounge in Dubai, or even Perth?😬

You won’t get any access to EK lounges with QR status.

Just noticed my Qatar Platinum status now expires end of December 2023 but no email from them

I like Qatar as an airline and the fact they fly in and out of Adelaide means I might look at some flights with them this year.
Ha, just noticed this too. I really have not been concentrating.

Thank you for this alert as I was able to use the Qantas First Lounge in Singapore earlier this month. Will be in Kuala Lumpur in July so should be able to use MAS Platinum lounge before flying back on MH to Aus. Don't think it's worth routing to SIN, maybe unless Emirates F award seat opens up.

I would have appreciated a heads up from QR regarding the latest extension. I was booked in whY on AUH-NRT via DOH which had a 5hr stopover but thanks to a schedule change, I took the opportunity to change to a direct AUH-NRT on EY, without knowing about the extension.

Am I right in thinking the lounge offering in DOH as a OWE would have been better than in AUH as a VA WP?

I love the AUH F lounge but everyone is different.

It's literally been covered in multiple traveller websites and forum including this one and if you were subscribe to this thread you would also have gotten the notification as people on here were actively talking about it after March.

I haven't been to the EY F lounge (seen pics though) but I have been to the QR Platinum Lounge and from what I can see the EY lounge would've been the better option.

Does anyone know what is the point of the lounge passes in my Qatar PC Platinum account (which also expire31 Dec)? As QR WP, I get lounge access anyway, so what am I missing?

Has anyone tried to credit VA domestic flights to the Qatar Privilege program?
Yes I did it. I changed my ticket to refer to my Qatar Privilage membership and claimed the avios. This was done right after the partnership was annacojnced and took along time to show ony Qatar account. I had to send off my boarding passess in the end to Qatar to get it credited. The Avios you get is much lower though than velicity points for local flights, so only do it for the lounge access. As arefernce for Syd to BNE - 464 avios vs 848 for velocity.
