QF Double Status Credits (SC) offer for all :)

but you hear of people being Comp'd Platinum when they don't reach the required Status Credits.
That's for retaining the status, when they already have WP and are close and under a 3 year average rule, not when they don't already have it. It's far from guaranteed and QANTAS can choose to comp retains or not at their discretion. Also if earning DSCs are required to get to WP that would probably count as your one-off comp. If you still earn enough SCs to get to WP without counting the DSCs then it shouldn't count as the comp.

Qantas are a great airline... fly them when ever I can... I just think some times big business gets stuck in the T&C's. When I phoned them they showed very little interest in my situation. Without the Double Status I would be just under, I was asking Qantas to consider this so it would allow me access to the First lounge... Didn't really think it was a huge ask... But Qantas handled the situation poorly and talked about T&Cs. I get they are the rules, but you hear of people being Comp'd Platinum when they don't reach the required Status Credits. Im actually going to reach the required number but they won't consider this case.

You can be told 'no' and walk away from a conversation feeling OK... In this case Qantas said 'no' and I walk away feeling angry. Thats the opportunity for Qantas... learn how to interact with your customer!

Good point about Comps but they are an entirely different thing where someone has existing Platinum. What you are asking for is to be made up to a level that you haven't attained as the bonus status credits for the flight hasn't posted to your account. Without the Double Status credits offer you wouldn't ever have been Platinum before the International Flight that you are seeking F Lounge access on.
This promo has been quite unprecedented in being offered to everyone and for such a long travel period. There are many people who will be caught up in scenarios where early posting and/or manual intervention by QF would help them to the next level.
QF have never given any indication that they would be flexible in the T&Cs.
It is your expectation of QF that is unrealistic I think and that is what's causing the anger.

Why don't you post your details in the Lounge Meeting thread in case there's anyone who can guest you ?

Even for comps, there are scenarios where the person involved have legitimate reasons where they are unable to fly, yet they still did not receive one.

And while I don't know of the details of the said phone call, it seems a little strange how one can get angry because a company is not willing to break its own rules and procedures that were clearly stated and available at the commencement of the promotion.

There are probably legitimate systems (backend) issues why an agent would not want to manually adjust it (as in the DSC may post twice, which would be unfair) or whatever.

I DO understand the idea that it would be nice to see they are owing and to be able to credit it to take advantage, but if it's within the stated 8 week period then QF has every right to say wait the 8 weeks as in the T&C. Remember most DSC post within a week or so which is far BETTER than the stated period in the T&C but I don't hear anyone calling that "awesome service" but it's "cough" when the system doesn't quite work as expected. I'm sure one can handle the J lounge access for one flight before it posts, or maybe it will post in time. It's a bit rich in my view to call this situation "cough" service.

I would take the point that there are ways to communicate with customers that can be good and bad and that can be an issue, but it could also be the 94th such call in the past 3 days that agent has had about this....

Anyway it seems most people are getting the DSC within a week or so and that's pretty brilliant in my book.

(to compare I am under a UA promotion for bonus points for flights taken in March, but their T&C say 8 weeks after the promo ends, which is end of May.. and I have no bonus and don't expect it till July sometime.. that's the way it goes).

I flew MEL-AKL Thursday night and the DSC posted today. I'd booked economy during the promo period and two weeks later changed to business after noticing the business sale price got even keener. As the AFF brains trust suggested, since the original PNR remained, the DSC was still valid. :-)
I was actually pretty happy with the QANTAS phone service when I rang to get the flights changed. I phoned 3 times in two days and the first two times was answered within 5 min and those two agents couldn't have been more helpful.

Flew my first DSC sectors yesterday (BNE/MEL/BNE day trip) and as expected I've received the standard points immediately...

now waiting for the DSC's to turn up...

Seems that maybe you could expect them before the end of the month - perhaps around the 28th

There'll be another load from next weeks flights (BNE/SYD/BNE, also a DSC), so it'll be nice to see my chart keep up with the expected levels - hasn't happened in a while...I'll probably check next weekend to see how the posting is going...

Anyone noticed whether status credits from voucher purchases for the second usage have turned up?

My BNE-AKL is now BNE-SYD-AKL, wonder if I'll get double SC for the extra domestic leg:rolleyes: "if" I catch my international connection. 1hr only between arrival and departure??? Yikes!!

You should, even if you're put on another SYD-AKL service you can claim ORC. Even moreso if this was a change forced by QF.

Well I didn't expect crediting of one of the sectors so soon:

Now to await the other one - hopefully later today :D

Yep, QF forced. Despite first lounge would still rather have gone direct from bne but I'm not waiting another 12hrs so will go via Syd.

Mine haven't credited, where as other flights credited within a week at most (DSC that is).
I could follow up with a call but hoping they dont credit until after my adversary date. Rather not see them wiped.

It's not relevant when they credit, they apply to the membership year in which the flight was taken so it will still apply to this year. Sorry

The DSC's for my second sector (Wed PM) has now posted:

I know some people are upset that this will only lead to more people having better Status and choking up the lounges but at the end of the day all of these flights are PAID flights and I reckon it would have had a very positive impact on Qantas' paid forward bookings.
If that helps keep people flying and the seats full and Qantas profitable then bring on the next round is all I can say ( if there is one that is ),. In hindsight I should have just booked a few more from A to B in the period then worked out where I really wanted to go to and changed the booking later. I did that on one flight and I was assured by the CSO on the phone that all that mattered was the original booking date.
I asked her to diary the conversation on the booking as did I at my end with her name.
My experience so far is the extra Status credits post very quick.....GOOD ONE QANTAS IMHO !!!!!!!!

Flew on Friday last week, normal SC showed up pretty much straight away as they typically do, and the bonus SC showed up yesterday, so only took about 2 business days

On the blower today with FF wanting to make sure that a purchased ticket in the promo period can be upgraded.

Yes it can and if upgraded with money you will get higher SC earn reflecting the new level. Of course the upgrade processing fee is still a disincentive I will wait see if they might change some aspect of the flight giving me a chance to do it without the fee.
