Might have to take a weekend or two in AKL for some R and R and take advantage of this price.

The sale is on again for flights from 1 March

AKL/SYD NZ$899. For those doing a round trip from AKL, the return sector is NZ$959

Grab a few because you can change them for only NZ$150

Ok. Just made the booking. A few hours turnaround. Will net ~430 sc for outlay of $2100 and 50,000 points I was given last week from a cc promo. Around 4.8 sc to the $ - decided to ignore the 50,000 points as a freebie. F both ways! Sweet.

How did you get 430 SC all I can get for MEL-AKL in F is 240 Status credits?

Sorry. That was a return trip plus 50% bonus from Adl.

Sorry still not adding up to me max I can get return is ADL-MEL In Flexi J at 90 Return x 1.5 = 135 then MEL-AKL in F at 240 return totals 375. if it is 50% on MEL-AKL then that makes 360 + 135 which equates to 495 not the 430 you are quoting. Even if we go standard J class ADL-MEL then it comes to 80 return plus 50% = 120 plus the 360 MEL-AKL in F including the 50% bonus comes in at 480? Confused.com.au :D :D :D

Broaden your thinking :D. And my slight estimate.

ADL - MEL - AKL gives 165 in F but ADL is in J.
AKL - MEL in F gives 120
MEL - ADL in dirty discount gives 10.
295 + 50% = 442.

Are the EK 777 F seats on the CHC routes the same as the A380 suite or an older seat type? Cheers

They use a B
777-300ER on SYD-CHC sector, which comes in two class and three class versions. Irrespective, I think the J class seats are lie flat. And according to the EK website (but I suspect that there may be additional component/cabinet space (cupboards, trays etc) on the A380 because of additional space): "
Our flat-bed seats are on all our A380 and most Boeing 777 aircraft."

The SYD-CHC tag is operated by a three class aircraft. The 777 J seats are far inferior to the 380 J seats as they are a angled flat seat in a 2-3-2 configuration. I do believe that the F seat is the same however.

I see the sale is back on. Sorry, first timer question. How does one actually book these NZD specials with Australian origination?
Obviously as a return trip it must stand and end in AKL. Just book it as two separate one way trips and chuck in my QFF number and let the system work it out?

Book as two separate bookings on QF website, making sure the Emirates flight has a QF code.

Thanks for the heads up this was running again.
Have booked my first one of these on the ANZAC day long weekend, with a day either side for work in our WLG/AKL offices.

I'm looking forward to checking out the EK F product!

That's a tempting offer. Maybe a surprise trip to Oz with Mrs Welsh-Kiwi. Thanks for the heads up.

I am thinking if I booked this close to end of April I will be able to fly by then and retain SG. Just received another 50% bonus status credits offer.

Any tricks to obtain the 50% SC bonus offer, or do you just have to hope one rolls around at a convenient time?
I had one last year which was really handy to retain Silver as I only did 4 sectors. 50% on another two sectors this year would drag me up to Gold.

I am about 6 weeks out from renewal and not looking good as due to DVT I've had to cancel bookings that would get me there. So I guess that is the timing - about 6 weeks out.

Pushka, it is scientifically impossible to get DVT in F.
Please reconsider.

Well, I got one in the neck when I didn't even fly! So anything is on the cards for this little black duck! :( I am just 'susceptible' it seems. So I need to get that sorted first.
