Um, so I just called up to attempt to book a JASA and was told that as of yesterday the booking system is now COMPLETELY different, and to fly SYD>ADL>PER on a JASA would cost 60,000 points plus a copay of about $300 (the equivalent Classic is 36,000 + $82, and as of a few days ago the same flight as a JASA was going for 36,000 + $300ish). JASAs, unlike Classics, apparently now take into account all the different sectors so the booking engine views it as a SYD>ADL flight plus an ADL>PER one and charges the appropriate points for that...
So this could be a somewhat (majorly) negative effect of the booking engine change.
I really hope I'm wrong, and I'll be the first to admit I'm not experienced with mASAs, but I talked to the guy for a long time and supervisors were involved! If anyone can shed any light on this, I'd appreciate it. Sorry if this is off-topic, but it seems to be a direct result of the booking engine change!
