Anyone else experiencing the screen flickering, or jumping, when logged on to AFF? It is happening at regular intervals and is driving me crazy! I started noticing it a couple of days ago

It is not happening on any other website.

I can probably only add the real unhelpful advise that it is not happening for me.

Ok, the screen flickering, jumping, has gotten a lot worse now.

Really weird! Still only happens on this website. Any changes recently?

For anyone else that has been experiencing this problem it is because of the new Qantas flash advertising on this site.

All that is left now is to find a workaround. :(

you could try to download the latest version of the Adobe (formerly Macromedia) Shockwave Flash player and see if that helps.
Thanks Mal. Adobe Flash player successfully installed.

Interesting that I hadn't installed it on my laptop before.

Maybe you had an older version or something. There can't be two many machines out there that don't have one version or another of it installed.

No QF ads here. I do seem to get different ads than oz-based AFFers. I wonder what ads you'd get if you could fool the site into thinking you were from north korea?

Is it free now?
Well its obviously not ad-free for JohnK at the moment, and an AFF membership will ensure his AFF surfing experience is ad-free and hence flicker-free.

Thanks NM. That may well be good advice but I am going to pass.

Screen still jumping even after installing Adobe Flash player. Back to the drawing board. There has got to be a setting somewhere that turns off Flash.

You can disable the Flash plugin in IE options.

For me (IE7), it's: Tools - Manage Add-ons - Enable or Disable Add-ons.

What can I say.... You are a genius. :D

Screen has stopped jumping and instead a balloon shows the warning "This webpage wants to use an add-on that is either disabled or from a publisher you have blocked. To enable the add-on, click here."

Now I can just concentrate on golf in Port Stephens this weekend.

So I take it that you have shelved plans for a subscription? :D
