SQ Tips, Trips and Tales

Unrelated to BTC...

What dates, how many seats, one way or return and how far out did you book? I ask as I am trying to better understand availability on that route.

August, booked as soon as the seats were available, 2 pax.

Just a question with first class/ suites - is it all you can eat? ie: can you order more then 1 dinner? How about in J?
cheers

It surely isn't that good?

Different strokes, I guess.
That's what I'd do. Nothing to do with "price" for that matter.
I understand that some people may not like some types of seafood.
The question was about recommendations..
SQ do BLT well from several catering ports; I've had it a handful of times now.

Can I BTC then order off the menu if something takes my fancy?

You can. But SQ doesn't (as far as I'm aware) cater every dish for every passenger (Lufthansa does, at great expense). If the flight was full, or non BTC pax all chose your preferred alternative you might (might) miss out.

I'm kinda with cruiser elite on this one... there's a certain amount of fun in discovering/reading what's on offer and making a choice. Something to look forward too rather than being pre-planned.

out of FRA the Suckling pig with dark beer sauce, savoy cabbage and potato wedges was amazing.
Here, out of RGE the Suckling pig is something you make sure you don't run over on the road ... unless you wish to pay K5000 compensation!

I think I like your description better.

I used to use BTC, but these days I do not bother as I prefer to just dine instead based on my mood at the time the food is being served, rather than deciding well in advance of flying.

Id did this once as I did BTC, but on the day much preferred what was on offer. As the dish was available they let me swap.

However food choices can and do run out, for while they do have more food than passengers it can be tested if too many passengers choose before you the course that you want. One time all I wanted for breakfast in J was just cereal and yoghurt, and they evidently ask myself near last and I was told that they had none available. I really did not feel like any of the hot options etc and so I just said that I would eat after I landed. Later on they brought me some as it was not all consumed in F and so they said I could have that.
