Not so long ago, you were "drooling" over some of the posts in the Suite Saver thread IIRC.
No, you are no longer an "ordinary" folk.
You are now a Suite flyer !

I would also like to express my extreme displeasure with the offering of 2012 Teusner Albert Shiraz in First Class 227 on May 10 – this wine is just not up to standard to be offered in SQ First Class cabins
Trixy of course mine is a personal opinion - but it replaced 2012 RWT - now if I had a choice then I know which one I would kick out of bed - YMMV - but I stand by my assertion that it is not of a standard suitable to be offered in SQ F/R.Can't please everyone, I suppose... I certainly wouldn't kick it out of bed.
I can provide ABSOLUTE clarity on this one CE - I saw it happen!! In SQ Suites at the end of my flight as I was passing the galley about 1 hr out from landing at MEL. The CSM was pouring the remains of the d'estournel, the Krug and Dom down the sink. She noted the look of absolute horror on my face and explained that it was customs procedure in Aus. I felt sick to the stomach, as I had also tried the other French red and had only had one glass from the bottle - the remainder would have been tossed too.Yes it does seem a total waste but according to info last night just ZERO choice in the matter for airlines.
Interesting that both QF and VA have official reps on this site - who knows one of them might even be able to provide 100% official clarity on this matter.

In fact on our last suites trip, we were the only two pax, so I didn't ask to try one of the wines, knowing that the rest was going down the sink. Am I being too altruistic?

Really? Are you sure on this point? So if you were the only pax in R as I was SIN-PEK recently then the only pax in F PEK to SIN as I was on return flt 6 days later - you would not ask crew to open a bottle unless you were going to drink it dry MEL? You would just sit there and not request a glass or two? Really?I will always ask in the morning (or at the end of a flight) if there is anything remaining in a bottle, and would never have a bottle opened simply for one or two glasses.

Were any of those 3 wines opened specifically for me? NFI - I was only following instructions by cabin crew.![]()
