Just received advice from SQ that our a380 has been subbed with a 777 mid March next year. Am guessing we lost the lottery on the new Suites, dammit!
Do you mind me asking which of the flights that was?
Also, if you get in early enough, they might be willing to let you swap to the A380...
SQ335, mid March.
SQ335, mid March.
I thought about that, but all flights from Paris that week appear to have changed, so we'd need to change port... and these were booked under the old points system, so am relictant to jepordize them. And I've never flown SQ F!
We still have the Suites from Singapore to Melbourne, will be watching that closely!!
Try to get on a service to LHR, ZRH or FRA and make your own way to Paris (eg LHR then a BA flight or the train across the chunnel). Worth it if you can cope with the extra points... (bearing in mind a tax refund).
Thanks MEL yes it terminates in Adelaide, we are spending 4 days in SIN . We are flying in J from ADE to LGK booked a reward ticket through Virgin 6 days there then LGK to SIN (first of the multi ticket) for 5days then SIN to ADE booked with SQ, so I want to drop the SIN to ADE and go SIN to PER in J for a day, then back home to ADE.Depends on a few things. Does the current ticket terminate in Adelaide? No other sectors back to SIN? If that's the case, it is possible to ditch the last sector. However... if your connection time in SIN is short, they may not let you short-check your bags. Secondly, there is a very small chance SQ will notice duplicate bookings and cancel one of them.

First time flying J and first big retiming of points, made a few mistakes along the way but almost there and enjoyed the proces, so much learned from all on this site
thanks

Have just under 24 hours in SIN before onward FRA - JFK F flights. (Arriving SIN 0020 and depart at 2355). So, a hotel for the previous night, but prefer not paying for 2 nights to cover me till 2100 check out.
What have others done / suggestions?
How were you informed? We are headed to CDG on 28 Jan next year and returning from CDG on 23 Feb. Haven't heard anything yet. My SO is constantly laughing about the fact that I actually look forward to the flights instead of the holiday.
EDIT: Oh bugger! Just logged in and our flight SIN - CDG and CDG - SIN have been subbed for the 777 as well.
GMOH really depends on the budget. On a J trip back to Brisbane a few years ago from Milan we arrived around 5.45am and our flight to Brisbane was at midnight. As our luggage was checked through we were in the taxi just after 6.00am and had thoughts of staying at a certain hotel in Bugis area and taxi driver advised against it and suggested Ibis Bencoolen. Glad he did. Arrived there around 6.45am and no problems checking in for 1 night and not 2. All we wanted was a bed to sleep for 5 hours or so and then come back to the room throughout the day as needed.
The Ibis Bencoolen was perfect for that and beds extremely comfortable. Room quiet and on the small side but only used it to sleep. Best part was that with my Accor discount was only around $110 a night.
No where as the same level as the Crowne Plaza but if you need to book 2 nights cost should not be anymore than $240. Have seen it on Accor sale (the 40% one) at around $90 a night with breakfast.
The Crowne Plaza is very convenient to the T3 and the TPR. We seem to be getting nicer rooms and we take 600 IHG points in place of drinks.
Today I received an offer to buy points with a 100% bonus from IHG. Those points are handy if you need to have a room at Circular Quay in Sydney.
