Re: Find! (#42)

I received this item from docjames via PM/email (claim is valid and predates yours samh004, so sorry)

View attachment 1737

Bottle of Dom vintage 1985 (upon close inspection)

Yes it is uncorked - it had just been recently drunk as explained to me by docjames.

Well done.

Sorry Sam! I had tried to upload earlier (see my post early in this thread) but had technical failure!

Drunk to celebrate the birth of minidoc earlier this month (photo this week in accordance with scavenger hunt rules). Lucky our recycling only goes once per fortnight!

Thanks for uploading anat0l.

Re: The List, The Score, The Fame

Does it have to be a can? I could only get a bottle and haven't seen cans anywhere? Unless that is the point? (I am driving past a Dan Murphy's this afternoon though)

How's this? There wasn't enough light in my room, so l took it to the bathroom for a nice picture...what happens? The bottle slips off the vanity and smashes....enjoy!

Now, l also went for a stroll in SYD today to get a copy of the wine menu at GLASS Restaurant. Talk about an awkward situation to place oneself in just to get a few snaps. The restaurant was chockers and l had to make up a story and sit down for a few covert snaps. I probably looked like a nut job.

 I appreciate your valiant efforts, but unfortunately the item calls for a can, not a bottle. Sorry. However...

...another valiant effort and this time is on the dot accurate. So that's a find! Well done, Oneworldplus2.

After winning the last AFF Scavenger Hunt (II), and enjoying the winners reward of a F RTW ticket and $20k spending money courtesy of Qantas :lol::lol::lol::lol:, I thought I'd dip my toe in the water for this one;

#31 - Flight from EU to Southern Hemisphere; QF6, dpt FRA <SIN> SYD.

D.jpg

The requirements weren't that clear, but hopefully this will do it!

(Thanks Anat01 for doing the Scavenger Hunt again!) :D

... and find #2 for me (pending acceptance of course!) :)

#9. Two digit gate number where the sum equals nine.

D 001.jpg

That would be gate 54!

(I thought I would clarify it for those who some people propose should be excluded from business class and may have difficulty adding 5 + 4, ie, the under 18's, which coincidentally also has a sum equals 9!)

Josh! Anything to say? :p

Oh I see what you're doing there.... :p

I'll let you get away with this one, although the intent of that item wasn't what was shown here. Had I not the knowledge of what is technically meant as a 'flight', I probably would've said 'no' (i.e. the "person on the street" interpretation would probably go, "Wait a minute, Singapore is in the Northern Hemisphere).

You like skirting on the edges, don't you?? One day we have to meet up :)

You took a picture of a gate direction signage rather than the gate sign itself, but I'll take it anyway, because I know you wouldn't be far off.

Two finds, Fantic125!

Thanks! Unfortunately I couldn't get any closer to the actual gate as you had to go through screening to get any further. :(

I still can't believe that some of the easy finds have gone yet...hot air balloon and a Pacific Blue picture

I still can't believe that some of the easy finds have gone yet...hot air balloon and a Pacific Blue picture

I'm 20km from OOL, a Pacific Blue port to/from AKL, and haven't yet been able to get there for a photo. Also, we have hot air balloons going past just about every day, but I haven't seen one since the hunt started!

Frustrating.

Find! (#27)

coughpy quality but I snapped this as I was boarding for XMN yesterday afternoonView attachment 1748

May be bad quality but good enough here.

I assume you snapped this for item #27 (Aircraft belonging to Air China). Don't forget to specify which item number you're putting the find against next time (a photo could belong to more than one description, so you need to specify which one).

Good work, simonpenny408.

#12 - Row 13 in an aircraft.

This would be number 3 for me and my cap for this fortnight!

QF732, today ADL - SYD (I was in 12D)

I’m in your shoes too :p

And I doubt there’ll be any balloons tomorrow with this heavy rain we’re getting now ;)

I totally forgot that we were both travelling ADL-SYD today. Looks like you moved your flight to a more sensible hour.

Find! (#4, #12, #2)

There's a PacBlue aircraft (and several others for that matter) in this image, taken in MEL on Saturday.

Check-in Row Q at Suvarnabhumi

These are all finds! Well done, oz_mark, Fantic125 (on a roll again!) and Archphoto!

Our first week of the game is up. I'll be preparing the updates for the headline post tonight, to be sent to one of the moderators for manual update tomorrow.

Find! (#47)

Dam Wall - Tailings Dam at North Parkes Mine NSW

IMG00032-20110216-1328.jpg

Well aware of that site...and IIRC the last time tailings still were wet stacked in there so there is water, so I'm happy to give that as a find.

Well done munitalP. I see from the photo data you took this last week - what part in the whole operation brought you to North Parkes?

Week #2 has started!

Post #3 has been updated - thanks serfty:!:

19 items were found last week. Just to give a point of comparison, in the first two weeks of The AFF Scavenger Hunt II, 17 items were found in week 1, then in week 2 an additional 11 items were found, giving a first fortnight total of 28 items.

13 members have joined the hunt so far (plus 1 more, as shown in the newest find up to this post). This is more than Hunt II, in which 12 members were in the hunt after two weeks.
