The totally off-topic thread

Don't procrastinate! Some flights I wanted to book are now ~AUD200 more than they were on the weekend. :(

I got a survey yesterday and they said to start the survey press any button.

The end button didn't work but I got out of the survey.

Could somebody please direct me to the recent thread discussing circa $450 SYD-SIN fares on QF and the cheaper option on foreign Expedia sites? I've tried searching but all the terms I remember are too short.

628 posts ago on this thread we were talking about email signatures. Apparently one of us works for a newspaper!

Time to kill the email sign-off

For the 20 years that I have used email, I have been a fool.

For two decades, I never checked burly, bearded dudes who bid me email adieu with the vaguely British "Cheers!" And I never batted an eye at the hundreds of "XOXO" email goodbyes from people I'd never met, much less hugged or kissed. When one of my best friends recently ended an email to me by using the priggish sign-off, "Always", I just rolled with it.

Did not mean to, it was a simple deduction based on allocated seats, enjoy the service!

No, she wasn't really worried at all, just amazed at the resourcefulness of people.

Well that was the best 15 hours I have ever spent on a plane, but won't elaborate any further as it would be dangerously on topic.

Excellent! You can come help me out now :D It's amazing how much you rely on your partner, you don't realise it until you have to do it all yourself! Well, you do realise it.. just not how extreme :)

That's why I go on OS trips alone (work/work-related) at least twice/year. Reminds Mr Katie of what he's missing. ;) :P

Seems to be used by them for Google Play in the UK. Has the AMEX logo on the website, lets you add the card, but then says not a supported card. Boo.

Thanks for that. Maybe I'm baulking because I'm looking to buy something that is most likely going to be marginal from a technical point of view. But luckily it's only $80.

I only found that out the other day... saw an ad for the Nexus 4, thought the price was decent so went to buy one for Mrs Flashware as a treat (she currently has my old HTC Desire that I got rid of when I upgraded to the One X :D) - but then a) they didn't take AMEX b) wanted to charge 10 quid delivery! Most places over here do free delivery, so that was enough of a kick in the teeth to say "sod ya!". Impulse purchase nicely quashed by Google's poor attitude :D

The google nexus uses Google wallet in the playstore. I hope it's legit.
