You must be having fun!
Not sure I would be calling it fun.

Contemplating booking October-December flights on current Qantas $89 special and mum reminded me that I was supposed to be coming back home in September. Oops....

Last few nights of the honeymoon booked now, can finally kick back, relax and not stress about it :)

Just got back from a two and a half hour walk around London. Yes, it's 5.30am, but my body clock has not yet recalibrated, unlike my wife's who's having a great night's sleep. It's struggling to stay above 0C, but we're hardly here for the weather.

It would have been quiet at least, and yes, I have my heating on!!

Where is "home"?

It would seem that yet again, the leaks and rumours before the event were spot on, makes the actual event a bit of an anti-climax.

Yep, you can't keep any phone secrets these days. I think the main issue is the fact that they're already ramping up production, telcos have to be involved, and of course all of the internal staff. Too many sources for leaks.

I would enjoy that. Should be nice and quiet and at the very least bracing.

And you promised not to pick on me anymore! ;)

Or was that the other way around. I can't remember now! :p

I did? Nope. I like joshing with people who can take it. And sometimes with those who can't.

Melbourne looking beautiful one day perfect the next for the global tv coverage. Guess that's $50 million well spent.

Might have to drink all of it to get over the $11499 oven she has ordered. Apparently it's self cleaning! I mean really come on I could pay someone to come round every 3 months for the next 5 years to clean a normal oven and still. be in profit :(

MrsTheEmu was cleaning the oven this afternoon (yeah, shocked me too…) when children (loose term, read: EmuOffspring) started appearing from beneath their various rocks to complain about a) rising temperatures underneath said rocks due to fans and a/cs no longer operating and b) multiple electronic devices ditto. Then I noticed the happy beep of the UPS under my desk…
Reset the 'breakers and test - no dice - flips the Main as well as its own circuit.
"Do you know what's wrong with it?" says TheInquisitor.
"Yes. Its broken."
"Great!" says she, ignoring my pathetic attempt at humour. "I've always hated that oven," as she grabbed the handbag (no, not me) and headed for the door (and presumably, The Oven Shops)…
Maybe there's something to be said for self-cleaning ovens after all.

Another test match and another stuff up by Australia.

I thought everything was back on track with Australia's first innings but the bowling attack showed their mettle again. Attack? Hmmm.

Seriously how many more times does Hughes need to get out cheaply before realising that Sheffield Shield is his calling?

Clearing out some old boxes I found some old Australian Mathematics Competition question papers from my old school days. Spotted a problem which I couldn't work out for the life of me for many years after that paper was used. Thought I'd give it a crack and thank goodness - I solved it.

Alright, very small pointless victory there, but.......

For those who are mathematically minded, or have kids that would like to give it a go, here's the problem:
A train breaks down 1 hour into its journey. The engineer takes half an hour to make repairs, but the train can only continue at half its original speed and arrives at its destination 2 hours late. If the breakdown had occurred 100 km further down the track (with the same time to make repairs and the train continuing afterwards at half speed), the train would've only arrived 1 hour late.

What is the length of the train journey in kilometres?
