No snail, just a very French style pate, with a spicy fruit compote and a small loaf of corn bad.

Duck ...

F1 qualifying is about to start...

And my iPad mini is not charging. Grrr.

Edit: those two statements are unrelated.
I guess if you are really bored on a Saturday night then watching F1 qualifying could be an acceptable way to pass the time.

Not really....

And why would you want to exactly?

Just to say that you have done it? Not that exciting....

I wouldn't mind doing it. Alas even if I had the means to pay for it, I wouldn't fit in the coughpit as I am far too tall :)

I do need to go somewhere to pay to drive a fast car though. Purely because I want to...maybe in another life I would be a racing driver.

Isn't that a bit like playing a new golf course? Play golf once... You could keep playing the same course forever. Why branch out and play new ones?

Or isn't it like tourism? Visit the same countries all the time. No need to add new ones.

I would jump at the chance of taking a spin in an F1 car. Likely I would write it off due to its power... But hey even at 100 or so it would still be an awesome ride.

No, no, no. Not even close. Anyone can drive a car. Not everyone can play golf.

Shame you are even trying to compare the two! ;)

I wonder what the neighbours think of this middle aged man on his balcony using an electric toothbrush on his tomato bush .

A) they aren't exactly cars you pick up the milk and bread with
B) not all cars are equal and the drivers skills vary too
C) each track had unique characteristics that add to the complexity.

So golf and F1 do have some similarities. Except that golf is what you do to ruin a good walk.

Golf is what you do to ruin a good walk...

... and Giedo van der Garde is who you try to lap, to ruin a good drive!

I now get why airlines don't interline willy nilly now...relatives have had 3 days without bags. Qatar completely useless in giving them info so they emailed Mum all their information and I took it on. Worldtracer was rather lacking too, but I noticed QF bag tags (they were PER-QF-SIN-QR-DOH-QR-ZRH-?-MXP) so chanced a call to baggage services at PER to at least figure out where they are. Super helpful staff member managed to figure out the bags got to Milan late last night.

Information relayed to relatives via a Skype call to their hotel (love that 60 minutes/month free with Office 365) and hopefully ball is now rolling for them to get their luggage before heading off elsewhere by train later this morning. If they don't get them before the train leaves, I hope they are smart enough to wave from the platform while they wait for their bags!

The AFF iPhone app does not cope well when posts are hived off into their own thread. I'm still seeing cats here. :)

Thought I was on the 1700h flight, rushed to airport in taxi at 1550h to make checkin.

Checked in at premium to find I was actually on the 1800h flight.

Went through security and looked at my BP to find I was allocated 8B. The preallocation I did on the phone for row 3 last week has not stuck. Miffed, but I guess I got what I deserved (i.e. Golds shouldn't get row 3). Of course, being on a Saver, can't use my complimentary upgrade. Service desk offered 4C - good enough.

Upstairs area is closed - probably only opened based on demand.

Taxi cost was $35 including credit card surcharge. The cost of your injured pride is low in Sydney. ;) :)
