Here is something I have never come across.

Payment Gateway.

This real estate agency that is listing one of the apartments I am looking to rent does not provide any payment options that do not cost me any money. It is $1.65 for direct debit, $2.00 for BPay from bank account, $3.00 for Australia Post and 2.2% for credit card.

Serious? Sounds like a nice little rort to me.

That moment when you listen to a recording you made back in February in NYC on a subway train & you can picture that one person based on what they said.

My first O/S trips were made before smartphones and ubiquitous convenient recording devices. Everyone told me to take lots of photos , but it was the street music that I regret not being able to record .
Bob Dylan covered so badly it was good in a Paris metro tunnel, reggae'd up Christmas carols in Barbados stand out.

Is there a "having to walk to the bank" fee if you had the hide to offer them cash?

Probably. :p

I have sent her an email expressing my surprise and whether they offered any payment options that were not a rort.

It's good being able to record all the usual things we take for granted & share them with others.

Not advertising the lowest inclusive price is a tad illegal.

Whingepool type question:
Does anyone own one of those super duper Japanese or Korean brand rice cookers (Tiger/ Cuckoo/Zojirushi) and if so are they worth spending $400 on?
We have only ever bought cheap Breville things, eat rice 2-3 times per week at least and getting fed up of replacing them.

Yes, they are worth every cent. The rice is better, and they last forever thanks to good build quality. I have a Tiger brand rice cooker & swear by it :)

They can be purchased from "Asian" neighbourhoods for a modest sum. (Springvale in Melbourne is v.good).

Sorry, but that sounds pretty negative to me.

Some are not as fortunate as others to be able to laugh off their misfortunes and continue life with the same enthusiasm.

That is not being negative. That is reality. Otherwise we would all be living in Utopia....

I got a bit sidetracked, but meant to ask if you'd consider buying your current place. It seems rather cheap at $88K (IIRC). It rather tempted me as I've been considering property in Brisbane.

If it helps, just a fortnight ago I sold my three bedroom unit in Clayfield (just north of the city) for just under $300k. Its right on Sandgate Rd so not the best of locations.

Not sure if there is a thread on the AFL Essendon issue, but I'm watching the outcome now, and I have to say, the whole thing is pathetic. $2mil as a fine, ok that's gonna hit, but the rest in terms of Hird and the rest, minimal. Off the hook.

Ben Cousins must be feeling robbed.
