Hug your loved ones close peeps, life isn't a dress rehearsal. Over the past few days I have had the privilege of meeting and helping those who hold these values preciously now.....
There's definitely more to life than airline status that's for sure.

Not meaning to sound brutal PF, but I would have thought in your business this would be commonplace. I guess you must have had a particularly horrible run of late. I feel for you and those you refer to. I think we all know deep down that there is more to life.

Somehow the start of a year always is harder on those left behind. Sounds like you and the ED had a busy couple of shifts :(

Have had a particularly awful run of late over the last few days. You are correct that in my line of work death is commonplace but every so often a patient and their family come along to remind me that I'm just like everyone else, I'm not infallible.
I do what I can and I hope it's enough

Of course you do - and that's all you can do.

Omg ... a business/first class cabin on a usa major airline with spare seats ...

Edit ... although the past few posts make that rather trivial ... :-|

Yes while many of us are enjoying some down time you are experiencing the opposite.
Thank you for what you do and your care to all concerned.
We often take life for granted, until something brings us back to appreciate and love our loved ones.

yours beat mine - whilst I made about the same in number they were shared amongst 4 of us. My children made sure Daddy had the smallest pile and had to resort to a bowl of cereal to ensure sufficient sustenance was obtained.
I didn't eat them all!

We have a tradition of using the entire mix to make one large pancake, which is then carved at the table.
