I'm back...........

Power resumed at 11am this morning, just 30 minutes before heading out to lunch with Princess Fiona and JoJen. (which was lovely)
Called into work on the way home - power still out there. Another fun day tomorrow with limited equipment running via generators.

Whilst nowhere near the plight of bindibuys, Princess Fiona and others, I have spent since Friday afternoon in an area with no mobile coverage.

And I think I could go for a few weeks if the power went out. The advantages of being well versed at remote area camping, I guess.

but you have a 12 v coffee machine jessicatam ( as do i now!)

I think that an AFF camping trip will be very undersubscribed!

Mrs C's idea of coming is 3 stars

The only stars I like to see when traveling are the ones on the front door at reception.

Back in my RAAF days I spent months at a time camping in Australia, Sumatra and PNG so now even the thought of camping gives me chills :!: 

Back in my cattle dealing days for years we would winter stock on Snake Island off Welshpool in Vic - drove them to and fro through sea and channel on horseback - 'camped' in stockman huts there on island.

On arrival you would enter stockman hut - choose a wire cot - untie the 20yo mattress / blankets from roof - shake out the baby rats and ratshi*t - drink McWilliams Cream Sherry til you could talk no more then try to get some sleep in a hut with 6 to 8 guys snoring like chain saws.

Next morn wake up with screaming hangover - nothing to drink until billy boiled cause there are dead magpies floating in top of only tank on island - ride back home through bush and sand and sea and be eaten alive by mozzies and sand flies - ah the memories.

I love camping under the stars - all 5 of them!

I was going to talk about sleeping on the rocks at Puckapunyal after trying to dig foxholes in them, trying to avoid getting run over by wayward Leopards, getting soaked on Day 1 of a 14-day exercise (with the sun coming back out on day 14) at Pucka in June, crazy Yank boat drivers at Shaolwater, and sandflies, mossies and flash floods at Selheim, but I have to concede this round to Cruiser: drinking McWilliams Cream Sherry!!! - I bet you had no ice either ;)

Don't forget the Stone's Green Ginger Wine ;)

I thought the references to digging and avoiding leopards meant Stones Green Ginger Wine might not be a thing. One for the first things I learnt is that 6 bottles of Stones fits in the barrel of an FSV. But that corporal might have been lying. ;)

Nah too expensive mate - $2.99 bottle - that's what the toffy WPs would drink. McWilliams Cream Sherry $3.99 flagon - tasted like S.H.I.R.T first up but the more you drank the sweeter it tasted - go figure!

If only that was the price for the whole cask.

Wonder what the 40 y.o. Laphroaig tastes like ? I know NM would like to know :D

Classic London prices. The wine list was extensive and spectacular!

I have been back in Brisbane for 1 week and all that time I have been unwell with the flu, 2 full days off work, and another 2 I should have stayed away from work. The previous week I was on a house boat. My only tip don't go for a swim in the Murray River it was freezing. I have tried Aspro, Nurofen, and back to plain old panadol, yes saw the Doctor he said take Nurofen and rest, I get over it.
The muscle soreness has come back again, so I just had 2 more panadol and i go to bed very soon.

Not everything is bad, Fremantle are on top of the AFL.

They certainly are - hopefully injuries won't derail them this year - but don't forget flag won in Oct this year and not Apr.

Must finish 1 or 2 to get 2 home finals and they will be in it up to their ears.

Will def go to see them when they come over to Australia - that midfield are a joy to watch. How good is that Nate Fyfe - what a star - god I love watching him go about his business.

If it was the price for the whole bottle it would still be expensive. A double shot is ridiculous!

Well I still have a 25yo here yet to be started. But the reviews are not that great, indicating the slightly younger ones are actually better, but I expect I will never get to try anything older than the 25yo I have here.

I haven't had a 25 year old for quite some time!
