There's a kids room at TPE airport that has a kitty standing outside and people take their photo taken with it. Are you actually on a kitty themed plane, if so there will be lots of kittys, even faces on the bread. She could collect whichever used pillow cases you all use as they have a big kitty face on them. She may even get an unused one for a special friend if you ask nicely.

It feels a little bit weird in Newcastle just now. Still many homes (mine included) without power now for ~ 72hrs. The traffic lights on almost every major interchange are not working. The council has closed off R turn lanes at busy intersections with bollards so obviously not expecting return of power any time soon.
I'm thinking if the power doesn't come back tomorrow I'm checking into a hotel. The camping feeling is wearing off rapidly

Princess - I love the quote at the bottom of your posts. Yesterday we had 100mm of rain, but we are in better condition that you are, by the sound of it. Hope things improve for you soon. With power out for so long you would need quite a few splashes of the product for which Gabrielle Chanel is world famous!

I've had a guts full of QF and CX - you guys are welcome to them. I have a J rdpt MEL-HKG-PVG on May 5 - booked it months ago from that bank of QF pts which seem basically unusable unless you book light years ahead - Yesterday I get a call from QF saying HKG-PVG sector now in Y as no J on that flt due to equip change - so I am booted to much later flt getting into PVG much later than original 19:30.

This flt scheduled for Tue May 5 - I called QF again yesterday and was told they will send off another email to OW to seek reinstatement of original J seat. Was told if they do not call me back I should call them before Tue - OMG - how do you guys deal with this mob.

Recently received call from lovely agent at QF advising KA have now reinstated original J seat so am all set to go with an ounce of luck.

FTR - I am totally aware that if KA substitute aircraft and pax lose J bookings that is not QF fault - but it was the flippant attitude and less than honest response from first 2 QF agents I spoke to. First agent told me aircraft substitution to 1 class metal - this just did not sound correct to me for KA on HKG-PVG route - I have only ever seen 2 class KA on that route - so I called KA and they told me indeed 2 class aircraft was still scheduled that flight just less J seats. At the time I spoike to first agent I was in factory outside Nanjing and had no time to discuss right then but would call QF back

Second agent who I spoke just said bad luck - you are in Y - I told her I was not accepting this and that she should go back and try to get J seat reinstated. I called again yesterday and was told still no reinstatement but they would send off another email.

Today I had the call from the lovely agent who was totally apologetic about whole ordeal - she did say if notice of the downgrade had come across her desk initially she would never have accepted it and would have immediately followed up on her own initiative to get reinstatement.

As I said above I am totally aware of metal changes from time to time and sometimes we have to roll with the punches - only last week I had SQ new F booked on 77WN SIN-MEL but last minute sub saw me on 77W in old F - such is life.

This whole sage has such a bitter / sweet twist to it.

Bitter in that I am flying MEL-HKG-PVG CX J / KA J for 70K QF pts / rather than MEL-SIN-PVG SQ F / R for 76K KF pts - I will cancel the SQ booking Sunday if the QF booking still looks intact.

Sweet in that my MP Diamond mship expires end May so prolly my last chance to join that infamous band of QF F Lounge evictees next Tue morn. If I slam a doz champs in first hour then dance naked on the tables like Jess, Tommy, blacky and Ansett did that should elevate me to same legendary status shouldn't it?

You got off easy Cruiser Elite. My hairdresser (an ex-FA) was off on holiday to HNL on Monday (or so she thought) - she finally arrived at her accom 8 hours ago - but some 3 days late. This story tells the sad tale...

My Roster God should have written my roster in pencil for the fortnight starting Sunday.

Not including the original swap to get onto afternoons, I have swapped with 4 different drivers & I still have another swap to go. Most days have changed except the weekend off in the middle.

My part time work application is now at HR. How long it will live there, who knows?

How do you manage to get yourself into this situations mate... I still remember your horror stories trying to book TG F last year...

I have to head to BNE this evening to pick up my daughter. I know I won't get through on one of my usual routes, so will be using the alternate route. My back yards is now merged with my swimming pools - just one big mass of water right up to the back door and the poor dogs are stuck on their hessian bed that it at least a few inches above the water line thanks to the frame of the bed.

Hope you manage to get to the airport somehow.

My brother said he was sitting at BNE with the blue lights on for quite a while, so no planes boarding. Said white lights went on around 4:30, so things starting to move again.
