This is the coldest Autumn/Winter I have had for a long time.

Generally Melbourne gets one winter's day under 10 degrees. Told relatives in Germany about winter averages in Melbourne and they said it's not that cold.

For Melbourne I think the temperatures are closer to long term averages but colder then recent winter's.

Being a South Australian I've always been used to cold temperatures.

But after being in QLD for 12 months now I have to say this "cold" weather is really getting to me. It's freezing!

Then 2 extra points won't probably matter if Geelong finishes 5-8.

But imagine the scenario where they (or the Crows for that matter) finish 9th with a higher percentage than the 8th team but 2 points less. Those 2 points would make the difference between playing finals or not.

AFL is a national sporting code where professionalism in the conduct of the code should still be maintained despite incidents such as Phil Walsh's death. Organisations only a fraction of the size of the AFL have crisis management strategies in place for such circumstances but, it seems, not so the AFL which has made a knee-jerk and ill-considered decision here.

Mrscove was swimming in our outdoor pool in Perth yesterday. The pool heat pump ,pool blanket and solar power are all winners as she recovers from the knee operation. We can swim all year round now even when the outdoor temperature is referred to as chilly by others.

Today I am in the west to watch Fremantle play Brisbane, sad news about the death of the Adelaide Crows coach Phil Walsh, would have been disappointed if the complete round was cancelled and I think the AFL have done the right thing in canceling just the one match.

As Blackcat said, the AFL is under discussion because Adelaide Crows Coach was killed by his son on Friday morning. Probably the worst day for AFL in history. The Geelong - Crows game cancelled. The coach worked or played with half of the AFL clubs. Maybe you can cut some slack.

I always take into consideration where the sun is going to be as to what side to sit on, even on trains. Some times the view expected will take precedence.
